Big His Story –The Real Creation Story

by raptureandendtimes

The questions that a child asks have always intrigued me: “Who created the Universe?”… “Why are we here?” … “What is our purpose?”

From a Christian and a scientific perspective, this is my synopsis of Big HIS Story:

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (Genesis 1:1)

About 14 billion years ago, the universe appears, incredibly hot, busting, expanding, within a second.

Stars are born.

Stars die, creating temperatures hot enough to make complex chemicals, as well as rocks, asteroids, planets, moons, and our solar system.

The formation of planets, such as our Earth, which are more chemically complex than the Sun.

Life appears, with molecules growing from the Goldilocks conditions, with neither too much nor too little energy.

About 6,000 years ago, a mass extinction event occurred, resulting in a widespread and rapid decrease in the amount of life on Earth.

Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness covered the surface of the watery depths… (Genesis 1:2)

At this point, the Lord quickly recreates the biodiversity of the Earth. The story of Adam and Eve is shown to Moses by the Lord, from his perspective on the surface of the Earth:

… and the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and God separated the light from the darkness.God called the light “day,” and He called the darkness “night.” Evening came and then morning: the first day.

Then God said, “Let there be an expanse between the waters, separating water from water.” So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above the expanse. And it was so. God called the expanse “sky.” Evening came and then morning: the second day.

Then God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered into one place, and let the dry land appear.” And it was so. 10 God called the dry land “earth,” and He called the gathering of the water “seas.” And God saw that it was good. 11 Then God said, “Let the earth produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and fruit trees on the earth bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds.” And it was so. 12 The earth produced vegetation: seed-bearing plants according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. 13 Evening came and then morning: the third day.

14 Then God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night. They will serve as signs for festivals and for days and years. 15 They will be lights in the expanse of the sky to provide light on the earth.” And it was so. 16 God made the two great lights—the greater light to have dominion over the day and the lesser light to have dominion over the night—as well as the stars. 17 God placed them in the expanse of the sky to provide light on the earth, 18 to dominate the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good.19 Evening came and then morning: the fourth day.

20 Then God said, “Let the water swarm with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky.” 21 So God created the large sea-creatures and every living creature that moves and swarms in the water, according to their kinds. He also created every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 So God blessed them, “Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the waters of the seas, and let the birds multiply on the earth.” 23 Evening came and then morning: the fifth day.

24 Then God said, “Let the earth produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that crawl, and the wildlife of the earth according to their kinds.” And it was so. 25 So God made the wildlife of the earth according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and creatures that crawl on the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness. They will rule the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, the livestock, all the earth, and the creatures that crawl on the earth.”

27 So God created man in His own image;
He created him in the image of God;
He created them male and female.

28 God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it. Rule the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, and every creature that crawls on the earth.” 29 God also said, “Look, I have given you every seed-bearing plant on the surface of the entire earth and every tree whose fruit contains seed. This food will be for you, 30 for all the wildlife of the earth, for every bird of the sky, and for every creature that crawls on the earth—everything having the breath of life in it. I have given every green plant for food.” And it was so. 31 God saw all that He had made, and it was very good. Evening came and then morning: the sixth day.

Paradise – About 6,000 years ago, he breathed into man and Adam came alive and was a being that had a will of his own.  He could make his own decisions.  God choose that for man.  He gave Adam dominion over the earth and all its inhabitants. Adam was alone so he then created Eve for him to have a help mate.  It was a perfect life in paradise. The Devil knew that the Lord was setting up humans to one day rule the Universe, and so he targeted the first people by turning them against their God.

Rebellion – There were two trees in the garden. The first was the Tree of Life (a symbol of the Holy Spirit).  The second was the Tree of the Knowledge of good and evil (a symbol of the law, living without God).  This was the only tree in the garden that God told them they were not to eat the fruit of. There was no sin until Eve was tempted by Satan (an evil angel) to eat the forbidden fruit of that tree.  Adam followed her in the sin of disobedience to God.  They knew they had rebelled.

Now the serpent was the most cunning of all the wild animals that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You can’t eat from any tree in the garden’?”

The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit from the trees in the garden. But about the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden, God said, ‘You must not eat it or touch it, or you will die.’”

“No! You will not die,” the serpent said to the woman. “In fact, God knows that when you eat it your eyes will be opened and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

14 Then the Lord God said to the serpent:

Because you have done this,
you are cursed more than any livestock
and more than any wild animal.
You will move on your belly
and eat dust all the days of your life.
15 I will put hostility between you and the woman,
and between your seed and her seed.
He will strike your head,
and you will strike his heel. (Genesis 3:1-5, 14-15)

Note the reference to “your seed”…

They lost their innocence and realized that they were naked. They covered their nakedness with fig leaves. That is when man first sinned (disobeyed the known will of God).  God had to sacrifice an animal to cover their sin and nakedness.  This was the first sacrifice to cover sin, and a lesson from God that the payment for sin will always be death.  They died spiritually and morally and where alienated from God. They transmitted their sin nature to all of their offspring. Since then, sin has remained in the world, all people are sinners, and death remains the punishment for sin.

The Fall – Adam and Eve were forced from the paradise garden into a life of hard work, and from then on women would have pain in the delivery of children.Men and women then reproduced and populated the earth. The Devil released his followers to mate with Earth women and infect the human race with his offspring, the “powerful men of old” that would look human.

When mankind began to multiply on the earth and daughters were born to them, the sons of God saw that the daughters of mankind were beautiful, and they took any they chose as wives for themselves. And the Lord said, “My Spirit will not remain with mankind forever, because they are corrupt. Their days will be 120 years.” The Nephilim were on the earth both in those days and afterward, when the sons of God came to the daughters of mankind, who bore children to them. They were the powerful men of old, the famous men. (Genesis 6:1-4)

Watch what immediately happens when the “sons of God” have children:

When the Lord saw that man’s wickedness was widespread on the earth and that every scheme his mind thought of was nothing but evil all the time, the Lord regretted that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. Then the Lord said, “I will wipe off from the face of the earth mankind, whom I created, together with the animals, creatures that crawl, and birds of the sky—for I regret that I made them.” Noah, however, found favor in the sight of the Lord. (Genesis 6:5-8)

The wickedness of man was great, the earth had become filled with violence, and God was grieved. However, one man named Noah found grace in the eyes of God. About 2,400 B. C. God destroyed the wicked by flooding the earth with water.  During the flood, he saved Noah and his family by protecting them in a large boat along with animals of every kind. After the flood waters had receded, God blessed Noah and his sons and told them, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.”

About 2,000 B. C. God appeared to a man named Abram and told him to leave where he was and to go into another land that God would show him. Abram had faith in God, obeyed him, and this pleased God. God later changed Abram’s name to Abraham (which means father of many nations). God told Abraham that in his offspring all the nations of the earth would be blessed, because he obeyed God’s voice. Abraham gave birth to Isaac, Isaac gave birth to Jacob, and Jacob’s name was changed to Israel. Israel had twelve sons who were the fathers of the twelve tribes of the nation of Israel.

The Law – Later the Israelites were enslaved by the Egyptians, and around 1,400 B. C. God used a man named Moses to deliver them from their slavery. After leaving Egypt, the Israelites wandered through the wilderness on their way to a good land, which God wanted them to live in. While they were in the wilderness, God gave Moses the law, which Moses taught the Israelites to obey. This law provided the infrastructure for their society, for generations to come, and still impacts us today.

The Israelites did not always obey the law which God had given them. Fortunately, God provided them with a way to be forgiven. If a person sinned, they could bring an animal to a priest and offer it to God. Its blood was then shed for the forgiveness of sin. God sent prophets to correct people who were acting wickedly.  The prophets would often instruct people to turn away from their wickedness and foretell of punishments for sin which would come upon the people. Unfortunately, the prophets were often persecuted.

The Sacrifice – About two thousand years ago, God the Father sent Jesus Christ (the Son of God) into the world so that the world might be saved through Jesus. Jesus is the Word, which was with God in the beginning, and was God. The Word was made flesh by God causing an Israelite virgin named Mary to become pregnant by the Holy Spirit. Mary was the mother of this child, but there was no earthly father who had caused her to become pregnant. This child was named Jesus. He was the Son of God, who had now become fully human as well. Many years before Jesus appeared on the earth, there had been prophecies which foretold of him. While on the earth, he fulfilled all the prophecies concerning him.

At that time John the Baptist was baptizing in the Jordan River for repentance of sins.  Jesus came to him and asked to be baptized. When John did this, a voice from heaven spoke and said, “This is My Son, in whom I am well pleased!” John declared, “Behold, the Lamb of God!”

By the power of God, Jesus performed many miracles. Some of these miracles included healing all kinds of diseases, bringing dead people back to life, casting out demons, controlling the weather, walking on water, and turning water into wine.

Jesus showed people that God loved them. He taught them to love God and to love one another. He is the King of the kingdom of heaven and his kingdom is not of this world. Jesus had many disciples who followed him, men and women. He chose twelve to be apostles (leaders).  He preached the gospel of the kingdom of heaven to people. Those who believe in Jesus and do the will of God will enter his kingdom. He taught people to lay up their treasures in heaven, not on earth where moth and rust corrupt and thieves break through and steal. He taught them how to pray and ask for what they or others needed. And he told them they could have victorious lives through faith in Him.

Jesus lived a perfect life and did not sin. There were some people who did not like what Jesus was doing and plotted to have Him crucified. He was scourged, mocked, and hung on a cross until he died. Then, he was placed in a tomb. Just like the Passover lambs were offered and their blood was shed for the forgiveness of sin, Jesus was offered and his blood was shed. His perfect sacrifice was better than an animal sacrifice and by the shedding of his blood came the forgiveness of sins for all people once and forever.

Salvation – Jesus paid the price for all mankind when he suffered on the cross. He took on himself the rebellion and sin of all mankind from the past, present and future.  So, even we have caused him the pain he suffered. He was the final sacrifice, the perfect sacrifice for all time.  No longer did man have to sacrifice animals to cover their sin because his ultimate sacrifice PAID the price for all time.

He arose from the dead three days later and appeared to his disciples and apostles and many witnesses. He returned to his Father in heaven, but before ascending he charged them to spread his teachings to all the nations of the world. He promised to come again to take his people who believe in him and look for his appearing to be with him in the clouds.

Kingdom of Heaven – Someday in the future, Jesus will come in the clouds with great power and glory to gather his believers into his Kingdom. Those who have already died in Christ will rise first.  Then, the believers who are alive on the earth at the time of his coming will be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air.

For those who know the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom he sent, there will be no more death, no more sorrow, and no more crying or pain. God will be with his people and he will wipe away all tears from their eyes. The former things will pass away and all things will be made new. This will continue forever. Those who continue rebelling and reject this sacrifice for their sin will remain spiritually dead for all eternity, and will be sent to a place of torment along with Satan and his evil angels.

Your decision – – Be guaranteed salvation and a place in heaven today. Turn from your sins and turn to God, because the Kingdom of heaven is coming. You can accept the Lord’s plan for saving you by praying like this:

Father God, I thank you that you sent your son Jesus Christ to come to earth and show us by his example how to live. I know that He was my Passover lamb – He suffered and took my rebellion and sin upon himself, and died and then rose again. I ask you Jesus to forgive my sins, help me to live for you and stop rebelling, and to be the Savior and Lord of my life. I invite you Holy Spirit to live in me and guide me away from sin and teach me the Word of God in the Bible. Amen!

      Matthew 23:27-28

27Jesus said, “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but within are full of dead people’s bones and all is filthy. 28Likewise you also outwardly appear righteous to others, but within you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.” ” (Matthew 23:27-28). – Je Suis/I Am/Truth said the legal system presents itself as a good thing on the ‘face of it’, it is, however, built upon the dead fictions which are built upon the life of those who were deceived by it and all its false ‘laws’ which are no such thing, not law, but legal, which is lawless and operated by hypocrites who serve only their own greed and power lusts, with no service to God/Truth at all.

“Jesus said, “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but within are full of dead people’s bones and all is filthy”

So did jesus not like his dads work because he built us to turn to bones and become dirty we we kick the bucket didn’t he.

” however, built upon the dead fictions which are built upon the life of those who were deceived by it and all its false ‘laws’”

But is that not a perfect description of the bible (Man made) and religion in general !

“Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness”…How many “Gods” where present, are we “Gods”?.

      • jknbt

many Christians see the Trinity in the O.T. when they read the word Elohim (Gods)

      • Anonymous

Yeah, the Quran says “We” and “Our” a whole lot also. How many “Gods” are there?

    • VirusGuard

“From a Christian and a scientific perspective”

Sorry but the two don’t mix when it come to speculation and when you go back more than a few hundred years then thats all it is, speculation.

You should start off by asking who made god but i will call it quits on that one because I don’t know who made the software

      “Who created the Universe?”

How about from what because that would be a better question and my anwer is it’s virtual and can be as big as you want so that’s one nill to me

“Why are we here?” To learn or train our soles/being

Yeah, lets call quits on that one

      “What is our purpose?”

Burn in hell for 95% of the population if we run with the bible or is it more so you will have to stick with go forth and muiltiply me thinks and the two skull’s in the desert are fake.

” There was no sin until Eve was tempted by Satan (an evil angel) to eat the forbidden fruit”

Well this devil dude must be one of gods cock up if he made everything so why did he send him down here if he can see the future because the logic does not work.

You don’t think that god that is above perfection could want to learn from us do you or that he too maybe trapped in a computer simulation just like we are.

I know that the simulation theory kicks the can down the road but it’s the only starting point I can see and what ever is above that is beyond any of our understanding

this is a version of the “Gap Theory”….

for a take on the “Long Day” method of reading Genesis, go to the Reasons to Believe website:

      http://www.reasons.org/

most of the scientific objections to the Gap Theory and to the belief that the world was fully created with fossils in place 6000 years ago go away if you interpret the Genesis creation account using the Long Day method…
