When the Voices Come

“If you jump Shayne, you’re going to fall.”

Then like my bad ass self I take a deep breathe and jump.

I fly, I fly so high that I don’t give a single thought to falling.

I focus so intensely on the incredible feeling of joy that penetrates every cell in my body.

Then the voices come.

The voices of every teacher, principle, bully, family member or peer.

“You’re going to fall Shayne”

I get distracted, I start to look at the ground, I wobble a bit, lose hight but remind myself to breathe, to focus and that I was born to fly until someone told me I couldn’t and that the only difference between being able to fly and not is my belief.

So whenever the voices come., the resistance sets in, when you start to lose your breathe, when you wobble a bit.
