The Moon in Taurus – The Paradox of Creation and Surrender

With 4 planets in a retrograde motion during the last cycle, the invisible and unconscious aspects of our being have recently become visible. The energy reflected by the astrological alignments of the past few weeks have made us acutely aware of the emotional wounds we carry, and provided us with the emotional triggers we need to help bring awareness to — and ultimately heal — those wounded, traumatized aspects of ourselves.

During this current lunar cycle, which began with yesterday’s New Moon in Taurus, this theme continues, as that awareness asks us to re-evaluate our self and our identity, values and ideals. We are navigating a shifting reality and, as we work to balance the competing energies of creation and surrender, the only way to do it is without attachment.

Let’s look at the astrological alignments that are currently reflecting our spiritual evolution.

Venus in Capricorn semi-sextile Mars in Aquarius

Re-evaluating the self 

Powerful experiences will form over the next month as this Mars/Venus phase culminates. Aligned in Capricorn (relationship between self and structure) and Aquarius (personal truth), the phasal relationship between Mars and Venus will mark a deep purging of collective and individual values and, consequently, and shift in the collective perception of reality. Our focus will be drawn toward examining the ideals and values that we have externalized and attached to external reflections (Capricorn) of who and what we see and stand for in ourselves (Aquarius). (The election of Donald Trump is a perfect example of the collective externalization of values.)
