Did Paul actually state "the Law" was nailed to the stake? IF NOT - are you on the actual path to salvation or on that broad way?

Part 2.  Something “was” nailed to the stake, what was it?

As all translations of the bible are works of unconverted men and as Colossians chapter 2, from a letter Paul wrote, contains verses used by unconverted men attempting to nail God’s law to the stake with Christ — we will employ Strong’s Concordance and three translations: the KJV, NIV and the NLT to assist in determining if that Holy Law of God was abolished on the stake as the unconverted earnestly desire.

KJV – 8 “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.”

NIV – 8 “See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.”

NLT — 8 “Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ.”

Verse 8 should be quite clear; do not get confused by human philosophy, human vanity and pride or human traditions that are all part of this world and it’s god; Satan the devil none of which came from the WORD of GOD.

9 “For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.”

9 “For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form,”

9 “For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body.”

All three translations use ‘fullness’ to describe what is in Christ, the NIV says “the fullness of the Deity lives”, I am sure verse 9 can be and has been construed to mean many things to many folks.

To me verse 9 is stating;

The Holy Spirit of His Father was in Jesus Christ. The Father’s Spirit, which is the Father’s Holy “Seed”, was placed into Christ at conception and later after baptism imparted to HIM all of the necessary wisdom, knowledge and spiritual power He would need to become our Passover.

Christ was fully a physical human being with carnal human nature which He had to over come and as proof He was flesh and blood– He did die.

10 “And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: “

10 “And in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority. “

10 “So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.”

when Jesus Christ was resurrected from death to Spirit, to eternal life it was that ONE Spirit of and from the Father that imparted that LIFE Eternal to Christ. The Father and His Son are now of that very same ONE Spirit. They are – ONE. In Ephesians 4: 4 Paul states there is only ONE SPIRIT.

When my son was born he was born of my flesh of my DNA passed by my seed thus in the same manner in giving LIFE eternal to His SON, the Father passed on His own Spirit (Spirit DNA?) to His Son; they are ONE spiritually as my son and I are one physically.

When we receive that same ONE Spirit of the Father by the laying on of hands we are receiving that very same ONE Spirit that gave Life Eternal to Jesus Christ –thus our union, our ONENESS with Christ is complete.

We then have dwelling – in us – that very same ONE Spirit of the Father and the Son; we are brought into union, completeness, fullness, Oneness with both the Father and the Son by that ONE Holy Spirit that comes from the Father.

This will be further explained later.

11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

11 In him you were also circumcised with a circumcision not performed by human hands. Your whole self ruled by the flesh was put off when you were circumcised by Christ

11  “When you came to Christ, you were “circumcised,” but not by a physical procedure. Christ performed a spiritual circumcision—the cutting away of your sinful nature”.

The carnal nature we all inherited from Adam must be cut away.

Verse 11 is addressed in verse 13.

12 “Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with [him] through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead”.

12 “Having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead”

12 “For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized. And with him you were raised to new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead”

The 3 translations together make this scripture clear, the baptism of submersion under the water is symbolic of being buried with Christ in His grave, coming up out of the watery grave is symbolic of His and our resurrection from death to eternal life.

If we are “following” Jesus Christ, we will follow Him symbolically by joining Him in His death, burial and resurrection to eternal life.

Christ laid out the exact Path and the exact steps to eternal life and that exact narrow PATH Christ blazed for us is THE “ONLY” PATH TO ETERNAL LIFE. There in no other PATH given by which men can be saved.

Symbolically the old physical man died and the new spiritual man rose by faith.

13 “And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; “

13 “When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you^d alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins”

13 “You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature —was not yet cut away. —-Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins”

Verse 13 continues the thought of verses 11 and 12.

When buried in the watery grave of baptism with our sins and human nature intact, we symbolically join in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

By following Christ into His death, burial and resurrection our old sinful self died and the Father because of the sacrifice of Christ accounted His death as our payment for our sins and forgave all our sins — up to that moment in time.

We come up out of the water with all of our past sins forgiven by the work Jesus Christ did on the Stake for US.

The payment for our sins is one of the many reasons Christ came to earth in a body of flesh and blood and THAT is the WORK He FINISHED up on the STAKE – and not the removing of GOD’s Holy Law.

Once hands are laid upon us and we are given the Holy Spirit of the Father, the circumcision without hands begins and continues over our life time removing our carnal nature and replacing it with Godly Divine Holy Righteous Nature.

The following statement may help:

“You” and I – “ALL” – are “under” the sentence of death as a result of transgressing the HOLY LAW of GOD —

– and as before baptism and the laying on of hands our carnal human nature was intact, not circumcised away, not cut out of us –

—and after baptism and the laying on of hands as the Father then made us “alive” with Christ by applying the sacrifice of Christ and thereby removing the sentence of death each of us was UNDER —-

—and as that payment Christ made for us by the shedding of HIS blood removed our sin — the Father could then pour out into us HIS ONE SPIRIT—HIS HOLY SPIRIT could then come into our “justified/redeemed” bodies.

Once forgiven and the Spirit dwells in you - conversion can begin — Jesus Christ can then begin to circumcise, cut away, our carnal human nature and by the indwelling of the Father’s Spirit the Father can begin to build in us HIS Holy Righteous Divine Perfect Nature;

Conversion:

The cutting away of our carnal human nature by the “circumcision without hands” and the Father’s Holy Divine nature becoming our nature. See Jeremiah 31: 33

II Peter 1

4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might —be partakers —of the divine nature, —having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

By the circumcision without hands and by the Spirit of the Father in us — our carnal human nature is replaced with the Father Holy Divine Righteous nature.

What “church” teaches why we must be “converted” ??

What “church” teaches our carnal nature must be replaced with the Divine Holy Righteous Nature of the Father??

Verse 14 is the cause of much confusion. We will study it word by word.

KJV –14 “Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; “

NIV – 14 “Having canceled the — ‘charge’ — of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.”

Please take note. It is the “legal” – “charge” – the legal document showing our legal debt – which is nailed to the stake — NOT the LAW.

And “legal” according to what LAW? The Torah, The WORD of God contains no other law.

We have all been “legally” charged — BY GOD — for transgressing God’s LAW and are now — UNDER – the sentence of DEATH.

The Law does not ‘charge’ us, — God charges us – the Law is a list of what IS SIN according to God and God uses that LAW to convict us of SIN.

Jesus Christ is our judge: – Christ uses the Law to determine if a transgression has taken place and if so then Jesus Christ issues a legal document listing our SINS and that ‘legal” paper sentences us to death for those transgressions.

The term –“under the law” – means – under the sentence of death and NOT under the obligation to obey the law. When Paul says we are “under” the Law that is what he is referring to; under the sentence of death.

NLT –14 “He canceled the ‘record’ of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross.”

It is the “record”, the handwritten document, charging each one of us as a transgressor of God’s HOLY LAW that Christ took with Him to the stake and those “charges” Christ paid in out stead. Christ redeemed us by HIS shed blood.

Notice how the translators do not even mention the LAW, but the record of the charge, the list of charges, against us for transgressing — THE LAW!

Review the above: nothing Paul wrote even remotely states “the Law was nailed to the stake” only the document charging each one of us as SINNERS worthy of death did Christ take with HIM to HIS grave.

The natural carnal unconverted mind we all are born with hates the Law of God so deeply the clear scripture above can not change even one mind. Only if our Father “converts” your nature can this become clear.

Using ‘Strong’s Concordance we can learn how each of the following words were translated into English :

‘Blotting out”:

#1813, Esaleipho; Definition; To smear out i.e. obliterate (erase tears, fig. pardon sin) blot or wipe away.

The word blotting is used 5 times in the Bible: canceled (1), erase (1), wipe (1), wipe away (1), wiped away (1).

“Handwriting’:

#5498, Cheiragogos; Definition; something handwritten, a legal document or bond.

This word handwriting is used only one time in the entirety of the Bible. Certificate of debt (1)

Are the 10 Commandments or the Torah a — “certificate of debt’ ?

“Ordinances”:

#1378 dogma: an opinion, (a public). Definition: a decree, edict, ordinance

#1378 is used 5 times. decree (1), decrees (3), ordinances (1).

“Against’:

#2596, Kata; Definition: down from, against, according to, throughout, during

“Contrary”:

#5227 Hupenantios: Definition; opposite to, adverse; subst: an adversary. adversaries (1), hostile (1).

I will offer my opinion;

When Isaiah wrote; “That they might go and fall backward and be broken and snared and taken”, this scripture perfectly fulfills Isaiah’s prophecy. Verse 14 has been used by many preachers to snare and to cause the “many” to fall backward and be broken.

After the comments above on verse 14 are read, few will agree as the Law is truly hated. Of a truth; if God the Father does not open ones mind to understand His overall Plan scriptures like the above will confuse and be a constant source of contention and even actual fighting until Christ returns.

Understanding the definition of “blotting out” can figuratively mean: ‘pardon sin’ which when combined with many other scriptures explains how the sacrifice of Christ removes — our sins — and not the Law; Therefore the closest and most accurate translation of verse 14 is the NLT.

Can you not understand what was nailed to Christ’s Stake? There is not one word stating the LAW was nailed— it is a legal document written by hand: a charge, a record, a legal document that condemns each one of us as sinners that was nailed to the stake with Christ.

The 10 Commandments reveals what God has determined to – BE – SIN! The Commandments simply list what God states are SINS against HIM.

Yes the Commandments can be called a “legal document’ but they do not charge us as transgressors, God must first judge us by the Commandments before charging us as transgressors of HIS HOLY LAW.

The Law is what we are judged BY — Christ is our judge — and HE issues the legal document listing the charges against each of us and THAT legal document sentencing each of us to death is what Christ took upon HIMSELF and paid for — with HIS OWN LIFE.

What Jesus Christ took with Him to the stake upon which He died was the written legal verdict of death each of us has hanging over our heads. That is what we are UNDER , we are legally condemned and ‘under’ the sentence of death.

I do not know how to make verse 14 any clear:

If Paul was trying to say ‘Christ nailed the law to the stake’, why use all those strange words? Why not just say “He took the Law I.e. the Torah away nailing it to His stake???

Paul was not struggling to remove God’s Law but the record of our sins and our sentence of death.

Using the additional definitions of key words verse 14 says: –

Wiping away’ the ‘legal documents’ prescribed by ‘certain rules’ containing the ‘verdict of death’ which condemned us to death He took them [the documents] with Him to be nailed to the stake. Our written sentence of dead was nailed to the stake IN or with Christ.

All my personal sins legally written on a legal document according to Law, demanding my death for transgressing the Law of God were nailed to the stake with Jesus Christ.

Christ if effect said to me, I will pay with My life your debt of death for your transgressions.

My debt to sin was paid in full by the shed Blood of Jesus Christ ; I am no longer “under” the condemnation or sentence of death.

Claiming the two words ’ handwriting’ and ’ordinances’ describe and refer to the Holy Law of God is without foundation, without conformation of any kind what so ever and is a completely baseless assertion i.e. a lie.

This scripture have been twisted for centuries, but no longer.

You are now without a “legal leg to stand on”, that HOLY LAW of God remains HOLY and Eternal and all are required to obey that Holy Law of GOD
