A Parable That Pulls No Punches

The title of this article comes from the Parable of the Wedding Feast in Matthew 22:1-15, wherein the king sets up a wedding and a feast for his son and sends out invitations to the expected guests. Somewhat surprisingly, none wanted to come. Moreover, they even mistreated and killed the messengers. The king was furious and when he heard of it, he had those murderers killed and their city burned.
It is a prophetic parable if there ever was one! The “pulls no punches” part of the title comes from the “sport” of boxing where a punch is “pulled” when the puncher holds it back from the fist’s intended target. Otherwise the punch will hit with full force.
To get the full impact of the parable in its prophetic overtones, though lengthy, I must record it in its completeness from Matthew 22:1-15:
“And Jesus answered and spoke to them again by parables and said: ‘The kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who arranged a marriage for his son, and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding; and they were not willing to come. Again, he sent out other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are invited, ‘See, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and fatted cattle are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the wedding.”’
“But they made light of it and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his business. And the rest seized his servants, treated them spitefully, and killed them. But when the king heard about it, he was furious. And he sent out his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.
“Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy. Therefore go into the highways, and as many as you find, invite to the wedding.’ So those servants went out into the highways and gathered together all whom they found, both bad and good. And the wedding hall was filled with guests.
“But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw a man there who did not have on a wedding garment. So he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here without a wedding garment?’ And he was speechless. Then the king said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, take him away andcast him into outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
“For many are called, but few are chosen.”
“Then the Pharisees went and plotted how they might entangle Him in His talk.”
It looks like the religious leaders understood that He was implementing them in the parable, based on their concluding response.
Here are the prophetic portrayals in the parable, as I see them:
- The king represents God, the Father; the son, the Son of God; and the servants who make the invitations, the Holy spirit.
- The wedding and wedding feast are picturing that coming union of the Bridegroom (Jesus) with His Bride (the born-again Body of Christ, that church) at the marriage supper of the Lamb reported in Revelation 19:6-10.
- Note that the feast is fully prepared before anyone is invited to it. This depicts the preparation of the gift of eternal life before time began, as Titus 1:2 tells us, as well as many other passages that speak of His activities “before the foundation of the world.”
- This also depicts the fact that those coming to the supper are not coming to a “short-order affair” where the guest’s meal is made for him as he shows up. That is, the oxen and fatted cattle had been killed already and the dinner was ready for as many as would come. The implication is that they would not run out of food no matter how many would come to the wedding and none would be wasted. That is, the sacrifice of Christ is completely sufficient for all mankind but especially for those who believe, as 1 John 2:2 says: “And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins and not for ours only but also for the whole world.”
- The first ones invited, who refused to come and even made light of it, are the Jewish people who have rejected Christ. As John 1:11 says, “He came to His own and His own did not receive Him.” Yet, Paul declares in Romans 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.”
- God held to the promise of the gospel of Christ being made available to the Jew first, but it was rejected. Therefore the king sent his servants to punish those who rejected him and to destroy their city. This was literally fulfilled with the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D. and over the next 66 years the Jews were scattered among all the nations of the world.
- Thus, we have those from the “highways and byways” to whom the king sent his disciples to invite to the dinner, as identified in John 1:12, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.”
- But even after the invitations go out and are accepted, the king finds one who is not wearing a “proper wedding garment.” As all parables do, this one does not fully cover the finer details of the particular doctrine it is portraying, for we must realize that no one will ever get to the dinner table with the Lamb and not have the “proper wedding garment.” This part of the parable displays the reality of John 1:13, describing the “wedding garment” of those who do receive Christ, “who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”
Jesus said to Nicodemus, “You must be born again,” and Paul later confirms the result, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
- Then the parable gives us this statement: “For many are called, but few are chosen.” They are called—invited—to put on a wedding garment, the Lord Jesus Christ, in a new birth experience. In a great mystery of the workings of justification and redemption, God brings it about and draws a person to Himself and then to Christ as John 6:44 and then, 37-40 relate:
“No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; all that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”
“This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day.
“And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”
- That final conclusion of the religious leaders, not part of the parable, is repeated over and over during the ministry of Jesus among “His own,” eventually coming to His crucifixion on the cross. Even that, however, was his design, for He, Himself, is our redemption.

The real question should be … How does having multiple different persons keep this one God/being/entity from praying to himself?! Claiming that God is multiple different persons as the reason for why God is not talking to himself (because God is three different “selfs”) only demonstrates that what they really worship is in fact not a ONE GOD who talks to himself but three different god “selfs”/ and they all talk to each other! When they speak about who God was talking and praying to, they are quick to say “the other person, NOT HIMSELF!” But if you ask them how many gods do they pray to then they will say “ONLY ONE”!?! They expect you to believe that those three different persons are THE ONE GOD-BEING” which is like calling three different cars “THE ONE VEHICLE” (they are text book examples of prov 26:12)

Even THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH; (Jn 14:6 I AM the way, THE TRUTH,) whom the world cannot receive, .. for HE DEWLLETH WITH YOU, (present tense/standing next to them in the flesh) and SHALL BE IN YOU… (future tense “In them”) 18. I will not leave you comfortless: I WILL COME TO YOU (future tense “In them”) Note: The spirit of Christ is the sprit of God and the holy spirit that is why Christ said “I will come to you” (to comfort them, because Christ is the comforter). The spirit was standing next to them in flesh… ….latter it would come to them to be inside of them (inside of their flesh as the spirit we are given)…..that is why. he would send the spirit…… However, Jesus himself here makes the point that the same person who was the HOLY SPIRIT that would come was standing next to them but lets them know “I will come to you again to be Inside of you”
The whole point to Gal 3:20.a mediator is NOT A MEDIATOR OF ONE, (HEIS) but GOD IS ONE. (HEIS) again, point blank, identifies the number of persons of God! The “but” points out the contrast between multiple persons in a mediation party v the “one” of God. God is not like a mediation party with multiple different persons. …..”the express image of his person” ( the person of God; singular not plural).Any attempt to lay claim otherwise is willful ignorance and delusional nonsense

The book of Revelation offers us an interesting Theological dilemma. It states Rev 22:16. I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. Revelation also states it is “the true sayings” of Jesus and that it is “the testimony of Christ”. If this is not “the gospel of Jesus Christ” then what is it and should we consider it accursed testimony of an angel? If it is not to be considered accursed, then it cannot be some other gospel message then what was already given previously. However, this is the conundrum, for if this is the gospel message, then why do so few understand it? There is a possibility which few consider but is the overall thesis of this apology. The reason people don’t understand revelation is because they never understood what the gospel message was in the first place! In that case, where does that put those who claim it is not essential for salvation? Do you not find it quite curious that the most “Personally” given NT book By Jesus himself, is the least understood and given the least importance for Salvation in Christendom?….There are numerous preachers and bible exegetes but as Paul said “… I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge” . Most who profess the name of Christ are feeding on doctrines of devils and the ignorant.. There are, without question, many “qualified” teachers and scholars with many years of “dedication” and “solid education”. However, teachers, no matter how well lettered or numbered in degrees; if obtained from others; who are just as equally ignorant in such matters, are just “ blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.”………………

The second coming took place already and Christ promised that only HIS PEOPLE would see him ….John 14:19. Yet a little while, and THE WORLD SEETH ME NO MORE;….. [2 Cor 5:16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ AFTER THE FLESH, yet NOW HENCEFORTH KNOW WE HIM NO MORE….(here the Context of John 14 is his second coming)…..continued…..but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. 20. AT THAT DAY .. 21. REVELATION 1:7. Behold, HE COMETH WITH CLOUDS; and EVERY EYE SHALL SEE HIM, …. There is a parallel here with ………….Exodus 24:10. And THEY SAW THE GOD OF ISRAEL : and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness. 11. And upon the nobles of the children of Israel he laid not his hand: also THEY SAW GOD, and did eat and drink………..But Christ said….. John 1:18. NO MAN HATH SEEN GOD AT ANY TIME; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. A person can see with their understanding and or see with their eyes…. It can see “seen” for certain that everything that Christ described was seen by the folks of that day in His coming but do they perceive that was him? …So what Christ said is true every eye saw him but the world does not see him….. With the eye they and folks still today can see everything Christ described to have taken place, but they do not “keep” ( believe and understand) his words as such they do not see him nor shall they ever.
Rev 5:10..and we shall reign ON THE EARTH. (so, you think when Jesus comes back, he and the saints will be “ON THE EARTH”?!?)

You carnal minded fools, Jesus nor the raptured saints will step physical foot on the earth or physical city of Jerusalem….They live and reign “on the earth” ABOVE FROM the clouds!?! IN FACT, Jesus CAN’T!?!? (Jer 22:19-30/ Mat 1:11)
Do you realize how schizophrenic it is to claim to be looking forward to going to heaven to be with a spiritual God in a new spiritual city (Heb 12:22/Rev 21:2) to be like the other spirits/ angles are while at the same time looking for a physical Jesus to return on the physical earth to reign in physical Jerusalem?!?!?….. hello?….is anybody home???!?
The saints who have physical died faithful in the flesh (every man in his own order) are changed in the blink of an eye & caught up to sit on that Great white throne ( this congregation of the saints is the body of Christ that folks will answer to at the judgment and these saints will judge all men who cannot see Christ along with the rest of the world……Folks think they are waiting to see Jesus but they will NEVER see Jesus himself they will only see the body of Christ condemn them the saints judge the world (Rev 3:21; 1 Cor 6:2 et al) the saints are the body of Christ…that is the only part of Christ they shall see….only the saints shall see God face to face…..most peoples idea of the second coming & day of the Lord and the judgment is completely wrong
