A Warning from God or Coincidences

Was the Aug. 21, 2017 total solar eclipse a warning for America to repent of its sin?
One, my heart and prayers go out to the victims of Hurricane Harvey. I have no desire to add to their suffering. Prophecy Plus Ministries has sent a contribution. We encourage others to do the same.
Two, I am not qualified to say whether the total solar eclipse was a warning or not, but if God was warning America to repent, it is a mistake to be one of those that are ridiculing the idea. The people of Texas and Louisiana have suffered the most, but the entire U.S. is going to pay a price and the cost will keep increasing, if there is no repentance.
Three, because darkness was one of the Ten Plague warnings to Egypt’s Pharaoh to let God’s people go (Ex. 10:21-23) some Jewish rabbis believe darkness caused by an eclipse is a warning from God.
Four, the total solar eclipse was seen only in America so some Jewish rabbis believe it was a warning to America.
Five, if the total solar eclipse was a warning to America, repentance is needed all over America not just in Texas and Louisiana. To deny that America needs repentance is seriously wrong. Repentance would be good for America not bad.
Six, God told Noah to warn people that He was going to send a Flood to destroy the earth (Gen. 6:1-7:12).
Seven, God told Jonah to warn the people of Nineveh to repent or He would overthrow them in 40 days (Jonah 3:1-10). NASA and Cuneiform tablets confirm that here was an eclipse in Nineveh shortly before Jonah arrived.
Eight, God sent two angels to warn Lot that He was going to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah (Gen. 19).
Nine, when God sends a disaster to warn people to repent (II Chron. 7:13), if His people will humble themselves, and pray, and seek His face, and repent, He will forgive their sins and heal their land (II Chron. 7:14; Jonah 3:10).
Ten, since the sun is almost 400 times as big as the moon, the sun would have to be about 400 times farther away from the earth than the moon is for them to appear to be about the same size. That is the way it is and it is not likely to be an accident.
Eleven, Anne Graham Lotz (Billy Graham’s daughter), Mark Biltz, Steve Cioccolanti and others were preaching that the total solar eclipse could be a warning from God.
Twelve, the total solar eclipse was unusual in many ways:
a) Jerusalem, the Holy City that is associated with the Tribulation period, probably got its name from the King of Salem called Melchizedek (Gen. 14:18);
b) The sun set in Jerusalem at the exact moment the eclipse started in the U.S.;
c) The first U.S. city to experience the eclipse was Salem, Ore.;
d) The eclipse occurred over seven cities (a significant Bible number) in the U.S. named Salem;
e) It has been almost one generation since Israel became a nation in 1948;
f) It has been about six God-Days (6 X 1,000 years = 6,000 years since God created Adam;
g) The Aug. 21, 2017 total solar eclipse will be followed by a second total solar eclipse in 2024 (about 7 years apart) and they will make an “X” over the U.S. with the center of the “X” being an area in Illinois that is often called “Little Egypt” (Darkness was one of the Ten-Plague warnings in Egypt and the only place in the U.S. that will be crossed by both eclipses is called “Little Egypt.”
Thirteen, God controls the weather and He uses it to fulfill His Word (Job 38:24-28; Psa. 135:6-7, 148:7-8; Luke 21:25).
Fourteen, on Aug. 21, 2017 Harvey was a tropical storm. Three days later, it became a Category 1 Hurricane (at 1 pm on Aug. 24). Less than 30 hours later it had grown to a Category 4 Hurricane (at 6 pm on Aug. 25). It made landfall 4 hours later (at 10 pm on Aug. 25).
Fifteen, when Harvey made landfall it got trapped by two high pressure systems. As powerful as it was, it was boxed in and it couldn’t break loose. It just kept spinning and dumping rain. Who besides God can trap a Category 4 hurricane?
There are many reasons why America needs to repent: pushing the two-state solution to divide Israel and Jerusalem, abortion; the U.S. Supreme Court redefinition of marriage, LGBT issues, the globalist effort to create a world government, violence and bloodshed all over America, silent pastors and church members, corruption in the swamp and media, and more.
Did you notice that the first item on the list is pushing the two-state solution to divide Israel and Jerusalem? Look at event number Fourteen above. Notice that Harvey went from being a tropical storm on Aug. 21, 2017 to being a Hurricane on Aug. 24, 2017.
Now notice what was going on with the peace negotiations in the Middle East: President Trump’s Advisor and son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and his “negotiating team” went to Saudi Arabia and Qatar on Aug. 21, 2017, Jordan on Aug. 22, 2017, Egypt on Aug. 23, 2017 and they arrived in Israel on Aug. 23, 2017 for a next-day meeting with Prime. Min. Netanyahu on Aug. 24, 2017.
God said He will drag the nations into the battle of Armageddon for scattering the Jews and dividing the land of Israel (Joel 3:2). The total solar eclipse over the U.S. occurred on the same day Jared Kushner and his team went to Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Hurricane Harvey made landfall in the U.S. on the same day Jared Kushner and his team met with Prime. Min Netanyahu in Jerusalem (or ancient Salem).
The total solar eclipse passed over “Little Egypt” in the U.S. one day before Jared Kushner and his team were in Egypt to discuss Pres. Trump’s “ultimate deal.”
Is there a connection between the eclipse, Jerusalem and Hurricane Harvey?
It has been said, “There are no coincidences with God.” These things are either a warning from God or coincidences. Each person should decide for their own self.
Many are reluctant to say these things are a warning from God to repent, but if they are people need to stop ridiculing it, they best get on their knees soon and the U.S. needs to end the so-called peace process immediately.
If God’s patience with America is waxing thin, there are no words to describe what America may experience in the next few weeks or months (Israel attacked – God and Magog, economic collapse, increased violence, birth pang type natural disasters, persecution, only God knows what else.

the only solution is complete revival….one hundred years ago, 70% of the US was Christian and another 20% was “god-fearing”, meaning mostly moral living most of the time, even though they claimed no church affiliation or relationship with God….These days, only about 40% are Christians and almost all live lives of moral compromise and lukewarmness. Stricter definitions of who is a Christian and what a godly moral standard is takes that number down to 15%.
The root of all this evil is the baseless paper money we use. The country is going to hell on a Vegas-style spending spree funded by baseless federal reserve notes. This has brought in the age of apostasy mentioned in Jude, 2 Peter, and other places in the bible.
The churches need to do a better job of evangelization. The pretrib rapture is soon. The churches will be full the Sunday after the rapture. They will even have Sunday nite services again.
We cannot automatically assume that God is judging the USA through severe weather. To do so is saying only those in Florida and Texas deserve judgment and the rest of the country does not? If these events come from God then why does He judge the righteous with the wicked? He doesn’t. He can’t.
Our current weather problems are man made and represent an attack upon innocent people.
But that does not mean we shouldn’t be paying attention and earnestly praying for the safety and salvation of us all.

Gordon buddy, you missed it….I live in Texas and in the area Harvey devastated, which is the size of the state of New Jersey….I can assure you that there of plenty of evil people down here…and good people too…People have suffered uninsured losses that will be hard to recover from.
you seem to miss the fact that the area impacted by Harvey is one of the biggest economic engines of the country…for example, 40% of the refining capacity of the country is in the area from Corpus Christi to Beaumont, including the largest refinery in the country, Motiva. Some of the largest corporations in the country and the world are based here…
The economic impact to the area is huge, and the damage to the country as a whole is about $168 billion. So yes, the Texans took the hit, but the country as a whole has been judged. God is not done yet. The next target will be the midwest and then the northeast, yankeeland. How can a loving God possibly do this? This is a calling to repentance, so that judgments 100 times worse may be avoided. America is a covenant nation. America entered into covenant with God first with the Puritans and then a hundred other groups just like them. Breaking covenant is a serious matter. Look at the horrific judgments promised to Israel if they broke covenant. They are listed in Deut 29 and other places. Do a google search for Israel breaking covenant. Jeremiah and Ezekiel tried to get Israel to repent. They were deported, since they would not repent. There land was empty and desolate. Think of Israel at the time of the end of the Turkish occupation. Samuel Clemens wrote about Palestine in those days. It was an empty, treeless desert, devoid of population, which would not support so much as a single farmer’s efforts to live there. Is this a picture of America after God gets through judging it? Please, Lord, NOOOO!!! Please have mercy!

The bottom line is that America must repent or face severe judgment. Repent while you still can.

You as a Christian, do you want to be judged along with the wicked? Do you have any sense that God treats you differently then the unbeliever? If there exist a difference then we have to ask by what measure we are then to be treated differently. If you have the wisdom to repent early and seek to live life based on His righteousness then God is your covering.
God did not devise a plan to destroy your household, instead that is the work of evil men with their finger on a destruct button.
Will righteous people perish at the hands of evil weather men? Yes. However there should be some restraint in declaring God as our source of destruction. To do so is to invite even more destruction to come every time someone proclaims “God did it”.

I don’t particularly see any disagreement with what you have said here. In fact it validates quite well my point. I would add that the whole world is ripe for judgment so what’s the disagreement? My premise from the start is believers are not under God’s judgment. However when a blanket statement of judgment is made with out some assurances offered to the believer, then God’s people allow for unnecessary hardship.

If I may add to my dialog. My opening statements from the beginning also question whether we can blame God for the weather patterns? Though judgment is in the works for the world, we still cannot assume that every destructive event was done by the hand of God. To do so makes the Christian look foolish when it is discovered that the hand of man was at work. Then again, stuff sometimes just happens naturally.
Gordon, okay I read your article. Thanks for putting yourself out there. Here are a few notes…
1 Corinthians 6:11-13 is often used by “sloppy agape”, “easy grace” preachers to say that God tolerates sin. He does not. They base this on the previous verses’ lists of repugnant sins, verses 9-10. When Paul says that all things are lawful for him, his is talking about his choices for dinner (see v. 13), not sins that can take you to hell. Paul is saying that it is okay to eat pork or shellfish, since Christ is the fulfillment of the Torah requirements. Christians are not bound by Torah ritual law, food laws, or their derivatives. That is why it is not abominable for a Christian to touch a football made of pigskin. This is still a sin for an observant Jew who would keep kosher. They do it anyway.
Paul did teach that we were crucified with Christ. He always followed that teaching with encouragements to participate in his resurrected, glorified Life. Therefore, instead of dwelling on death and dying to self, perhaps it would be better to emphasize the indwelling living nature of the risen savior. For example, Romans 6 emphasizes:
• Newness of Life
• Likeness of his resurrection
• Freedom from sin
• “…that we shall also live with him”
• “…alive unto God”
The main point is how God can make you wonderfully alive in Christ. The main point is not about death.
Babylon is Babylon. Yes, you can expand on this meaning to include pagan economic and political systems, and yes, also intellectual, emotional, and spiritual systems, but Babylon is Babylon. Look at the map of the territory the Babylonian kings conquered. It covers the entire middle east. This includes Iran, Iraq, Syria, Arabia, Kuwait, Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon, and Israel. This is the main area that the judgements of Revelation will be played out (seals, bowl, & vials). The focus of the judgements is on Israel.
God has warned his people to get out of Babylon. The Catholics have announced plans to build a Christian university in Erbil in northern Iraq. They have completely discounted the warning to get out of Babylon, that is, Iraq. When the bombs start falling and the armies start marching in the nightmarish scenarios of the prophecies of the end time wars predicted in Ezekiel, Daniel, and Revelation, the Iraqi Christians there do not have the right to scream at God, “Why weren’t we warned? How can you do this to us?” No, they have been warned for the last 2500 years.
You seem to be having some heartburn about the judgments of God and the problem of evil. The lesson the book of Job gives us is that God is not the author of sin. He allowed Satan to trouble Job. Satan was the author and owner of all the bad things that happened to Job. Blame Satan for all his troubles, not the Most High. All you can say about God is that he allowed it to happen. And forever why? The reason was to test whether Job would still serve God, even if God took away the good things of his happy little life. In addition, God wanted to deal with Job’s pride. Job was so impressed with his own level of righteousness, he was sure that God himself would never let anything bad happen to him. So when evil happens, blame the devil, don’t blame God. God can test his people like he did Job. And there is an obscure scripture in Hosea that says that sometime God lets things happen so we might learn a lesson.
You seem to be bothered by the thought that God can judge a whole civilization, which includes the just and the unjust. He did that when he allowed the armies of Babylon to conquer the Kingdom of Judah. They had been warned to repent. They did repent for a while under King Hezekiah. Then his spoiled brat, evil son Manasseh took over. This evil king overturned all the reforms of his father. He took Judah into the worst form of idolatry and devil worship. When he found out that the armies of Babylon were on the march, he repented. However, by then, it was too late. All the righteous people in Judea suffered right along with the Baal worshippers. They had been warned. God did nothing wrong by this. So sometimes the blanket of God’s judgment falls on everyone, good and evil, those who serve the Lord, and those who don’t. Repent while you can, once warned. The day comes that you can’t repent.
As for your P.S….there is a natural element at work. God works through the natural and the spiritual at the same time. Just because there is a natural element does not mean that there can’t be a spiritual element. These are not necessarily exclusive.

The short answer is without a recognition that we died with Christ there is no way to truly understand seaparation from this world. For this reason we hear Paul say
1 Corinthians 2:2 For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.
Secondly there is a distortion to the gospel when one tries to “die to self”. Instead we are told to allow the Holy Spirit to be our vehicle of change.
Romans 8:11-14 Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live. For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.
This is our way of escape from the worlds destructive influences.
Concerning a spiritual view of Babylon. There are a number of examples in the word where the initial physical representaion of a person or place carries over into the new testament as a spiritual force. For example we read in Jude.
Jude 1:11 Woe to them! They have taken the way of Cain; they have rushed for profit into Balaam’s error; they have been destroyed in Korah’s rebellion.
Here’s another example;
Revelation 2:20 Nevertheless, I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophet. By her teaching she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols.
We also see this spiritual emphasis in
Revelation 11:8
8 Their bodies will lie in the public square of the great city—which is figuratively called Sodom and Egypt—where also their Lord was crucified.
Your final statement actually validates my premise here; “God works through the natural and the spiritual at the same time. Just because there is a natural element does not mean that there can’t be a spiritual element.”

When they speak about who God was talking and praying to, they are quick to say “the other person, NOT HIMSELF!” But if you ask them how many gods do they pray to then they will say “ONLY ONE”!?! The “but” points out the contrast between multiple persons in a mediation party v the “one” of God. It can see “seen” for certain that everything that Christ described was seen by the folks of that day in His coming but do they perceive that was him? …So what Christ said is true every eye saw him but the world does not see him….. With the eye they and folks still today can see everything Christ described to have taken place, but they do not “keep” ( believe and understand) his words as such they do not see him nor shall they ever.
The saints who have physical died faithful in the flesh (every man in his own order) are changed in the blink of an eye & caught up to sit on that Great white throne ( this congregation of the saints is the body of Christ that folks will answer to at the judgment and these saints will judge all men who cannot see Christ along with the rest of the world……Folks think they are waiting to see Jesus but they will NEVER see Jesus himself they will only see the body of Christ condemn them the saints judge the world (Rev 3:21; 1 Cor 6:2 et al) the saints are the body of Christ…that is the only part of Christ they shall see….only the saints shall see God face to face…..most peoples idea of the second coming & day of the Lord and the judgment is completely wrong

(3) THE FEW CHOSEN: Those saints who were alive in group #2 who are now physically dead. They died “faithful” these are the FEW that were chosen faithful…….Rev 3:5. ……; and I
will not BLOT OUT HIS NAME OUT OF THE BOOK OF LIFE, (Ps 69:28) …. These are the FEW that are CHOSEN and now that they have died and are saved then “once saved THEY CAN NEVER BE LOST”
