It’s About Time I Share Something

Since it’s coming out day, and in the spirit of Radical Authenticity. It’s about time I share something that’s been on my heart.

Something that blew me away, and caused me to step back (as I do) and contemplate my own self worth.

For years I (many of us) have been a helper. Anyone who’s come to me for help I have done my best (and beyond) to help them with whatever it is. Sometimes costing me my own mental and physical health. Something I learned to balance (if there’s such a thing) as I grew.

But that’s just me. I help people. I see their radiant potential even when they aren’t capable of seeing it themselves and I do my best to shine that back to them.

But what hurt the most was this…

For 10 years I put blood sweat and tears into my platform VividLife.me which has over 10,000 blogs and 6,000 podcasts, all edited and produced by me amplifying others messages (blogs, books, programs, events, conferences etc.) for free, meaning without any exchange. For me as my dear friend Crystal-Lee Quibell so eloquently stated at by book launch. It wasn’t about an exchange but about providing as many people as I could the resources to live their most authentic life.

After 10 years I decided to begin a new chapter in my life, to come out from back stage and share my own message.

VividLife.me had over 380 contributors and podcasters. Many at which my help was the catalyst to their success (At which I had each of their contacts)

I reached out to each of them ecstatic about the news of my first book and for the first time in my life, swallowing my pride and asking for help.

Out of over 380 less than 5 replied. One of them the woman who helped give me my start in the ‘Personal Development’ Industry, Arielle Ford one of my favourite people
on this planet. She’s the real deal.

My heart sunk, tears streamed my face, questions of my own self worth ran ramped, and fear overtook me as in my book proposal to my publisher I had counted on their help.

My book launched three days ago. 3 of those people helped me. One mentioned above and the other Crystal-Lee Quibell my best friend showed up in the biggest way a human possibly could and the fabulous Christina Rasmussen who invite me as a guest on her podcast to air soon!

As I prepared for my official book launch the thought briefly crossed my mind again, and then as I arrived at the green room pre party hosted by my dear friend T.j. Collina Ashton and saw my Good Vibe Tribe, a light entered my heart and a powerful force of love took over and reminded me of the Maya Angelou quote “When people show you who they are believe them” and I do.

I believe the faces of every person that surrounded me at that party, and then as I entered the bookstore to almost 300 smiling faces cheering me on. Family, Old friends, new friends, supporters, admirers …. all there shining the radiance back to me that I had been shining since the day I have my first memory.

And a song entered my heart. One that I wrote about in my book….

Some of you may remember it from Sunday school:

“This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine, let it shine, let it shine, let it shine….”

The lesson:

Keep being you and doing your thing because
it’s in your to give, let your light shine no matter what because your worthiness is not an outside thing (Chapter 3 in my book) and focus on the people who lift you higher.

Thank you to those who showed up. Your light helped me shine…
