The heartbeat of the nation, the hatred, the horror that surrounds will shake America to her very foundation. Weakened by greed, gullibility and godlessness America will topple. ‘Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people (Proverbs 14:34).; spoken by many, ignored by most. Righteousness finds no place in the heart of America; the call for repentance drowned out by the call of the wild – tolerance, diversity, self-gratification and sin.
America the beautiful, the bountiful, the blessed has become America the beleaguered, the belligerent, the broken. What once was will be no more. ‘Consider carefully your ways. You have planted much but harvest little. You eat but never have enough. You drink but never have your fill. You put on clothes but never get warm. You earn wages to put into a bag with holes (Haggai 1:5-6)’…you are always learning, gaining knowledge, becoming worldly wise but never able to come to accept The Way, The Truth or The Life.
The cry for change will be broadcast throughout the nation and around the world. From pulpit, prophet and politician the call will sound forth – ‘come to the well – it never will run dry, come eat, drink, be merry, get your fill of the good things of life.’ Declaring ‘I am rich; I have grown wealthy (Revelation 3:17)’…Americans praise self for all that they have done. Declaring their rights, demanding to be heard, The Spirit of Truth, that still small voice of reason, righteousness and accountability, is silenced as the praises of men and the adoration of self gains an ever widening audience. Millions follow in silent procession, unaware they are following the ‘wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked (end of Revelation 3:17)’; chasing after those who have eyes but refuse to see, those with ears but will not hear. Voices of reason, goodness and grace will grow more silent as voices of unrighteousness, liberalism and liars take their place of honor on platforms and behind podiums and pulpits while Americans sit in detached silence watching as it spreads.
