Seven Head Scratchers A.K.A. "What The Heck Just Happened?"​

There used to be a time when you generally had a pretty good idea going into a Husker game what is going to happen. If it was a non-conference game against a school with a direction in its name or the word “Tech”, chances are we’re going to put up some big points. When we were in the Big 12, if it was a Big 12 North game, it would be tough, but we would usually wear the other team down and pull out a hard-fought win. If it was a Big 12 South game, it’s probably going to be a nail-biter. Now that we’re in the Big 10, it’s the norm rather than the exception for the game to go down to the wire.

Every now and then, the Huskers have a game that leaves the crowd wondering “What did we just see?” Sometimes its an NU victory, sometimes not. Certain plays of the game will be debated in taverns and on message boards across the state (and sometimes country) for decades to come. These games are almost always wild and emotional rides that have a major impact on the Husker program. Here then are seven of these great “Head Scratchers.”
