.
With another exciting week of football under our belts, here are the Lester’s Legends 2013 Week 6 fantasy football team defense rankings.
.
1. Denver Broncos
The Denver Broncos have struggled defensively, but they have faced much better offenses than the Jacksonville Jaguars, their opponent this week. Jacksonville ranks dead last in total offense with 251.8 yards per game and scoring offense with 10.2 points per game. As the Denver Broncos tweeted, the Broncos’ 51 points last week are as many points as the Jaguars have scored all season.
.
2. San Francisco 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers rank fifth in total defense with 302.4 yards per game allowed and 12th in scoring defense with 19.6 points per game allowed. The held the St. Louis Rams and the Houston Texans to a combined 14 points the past two weeks. Their total defense rank is impressive considering they faced the Green Bay Packers, Seattle Seahawks and Indianapolis Colts in the first three weeks. This week they face the Arizona Cardinals. They rank 30th in total offense with 306.2 yards per game and 28th in scoring offense with 18.2 points per game.
.
3. Chicago Bears
The Chicago Bears have struggled defensively, but they are all about creating turnovers. They have 14 takeaways. Their opponent, the New York Giants, has turned the ball over 20 times already. They also rank 30th in scoring offense with 16.4 points per game. You may not get your bonuses for total yards allowed, but the potential for a defensive score offsets that.
.
4. Seattle Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks are tied for the league-lead with 15 takeaways. They rank sixth in total defense with 303.6 yards per game allowed and scoring defense with 16.2 points per game allowed. They face the Tennessee Titans this week. They rank 26th in total offense with 318 yards per game.
.
5. Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs are also tied for the league-lead with 15 takeaways. They rank seventh in total defense (312.8 ypg allowed) and lead the league with 11.6 points allowed per game. Their opponent, the Oakland Raiders, is dealing with injuries at running back. They are tied for 22nd in total offense (330.2 ypg) and scoring offense (19.6 ppg). The Chiefs also lead the league with 21 sacks while Oakland is tied for fourth with 18 sacks allowed.
.
6. Houston Texans
The Houston Texans lead the league in total defense with 260.2 yards per game allowed. They have given up 27.8 points per game, but they have given up five touchdowns on returns (four interception returns, one punt return). The St. Louis Rams rank 29th in total offense (311.6 ypg) and 20th in scoring offense (20.6 ppg).
.
7. Cincinnati Bengals
The Cincinnati Bengals have been a tough team to figure out. They beat the Packers and New England Patriots, but lose to the Cleveland Browns. They rank eighth in total defense (316.8 ypg allowed) and seventh in scoring defense (17.4 ppg allowed). They face the Buffalo Bills this week. They have been decent, but they are playing Thad Lewis at quarterback this week.
.
8. Carolina Panthers
The Carolina Panthers rank third in total defense (301.5 ypg allowed) and scoring defense (14.5 ppg allowed). Matt Cassel is an upgrade over Christian Ponder for the Minnesota Vikings, but they still have some question marks on offense.
.
9. New York Jets
The New York Jets rank second in total defense (299 ypg allowed) and 15th in scoring defense (23.2 ppg allowed). They take on the Pittsburgh Steelers at home. The Steelers rank 29th in scoring offense with 17.3 points per game.
.
10. Minnesota Vikings
The Minnesota Vikings have struggled defensively, but the Panthers are short on weapons. Carolina ranks 24th in total offense (329 ypg) and 27th in scoring offense (18.5 ppg).
