The World’s Most Expensive Golf Gadgets

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Money can’t buy you everything so it is said, but it can certainly buy you a shed load of expensive golfing gadgets and equipment.

So if you are in the fortunate position where money is no object and you want the best of everything for your golf game, let’s look at where you should start.

World’s most expensive golf clubs

Nike? Callaway? Taylor Made? Ping? A full set, even customised of the best these companies can offer is mere pocket change to the super rich, who would instead likely elect for a $75,000 full set of Honma Five Star golf clubs.

Endorsed by the likes of Jack Nicklaus, Danny Devito and Donald Trump, these clubs are made from many different materials including 24-carat gold and platinum and it is these precious metals and the exacting development process that sees them prices so highly.

However if you want to finish the set off with something special, why not get yourself a Barth & Sons Golden Putter, prices start at around $4,000 and there is no limit on price, depending on how much gold, platinum, diamonds and other jewels built into the design.

A recent Barth and Sons ladies putter recently became the most expensive golf club in the world, costing $150,000.

World’s most expensive golf bag

If you are carting close to $250,000 worth of clubs around when you play, then you don’t just want any old bag to store your clubs in. Honma’s personal bag to go with their Five Star range of clubs costs around $8,000, but we can do better than that.

If you want to make a real statement with your golf bag, then get yourself a Damier Geant Golf Bag by Louis Vuitton. The designer may well be better known for handbags, but at $9,750 for a golf bag, they could easily branch out into the luxury golf bag market too.

However for that money, you do get four exclusive Louis Vuitton tees too.

Finding one could be an issue, rumours are that they sold out like hot cakes as soon as they went on sale.

World’s most expensive golf cart

It’s not the $19,999 Humvee golf cart, nor even Bubba Watson’s famous Hovercraft golf cart (selling for around $58,000 per vehicle) that is the world’s most expensive golf cart these days.

That accolade falls to the Garia LSV Golf Cart, which has been developed at the Porsche factory in Finland.

Aesthetically, this looks just like any other golf cart, however this golf cart comes with a host of features which means it can be classified as a roadworthy vehicle. You can also have almost limitless upgrades to the model, which starts at $62,000, with over 100 different colours available plus a whole host of other options including different wheel sizes, hand stitched seats and of course, a built in refrigerator.

The most expensive golf ball

It’s still top of the tree as the world’s most expensive ball, at $6 per ball, the Dixon Fire Eco ball at $74.95 for a dozen remains comfortably the world’s most expensive golf ball. That price bracket puts them ahead of the likes of the Nike One Tour ($50 per dozen) and the Taylor Made Lethal, Volvik Vista IV and Titleist ProV1 all of which retail for around $48 per dozen.

What is it that makes these balls so expensive? Well they offer the same playability as the other top balls in this list, but Dixon balls are eco-friendly but unfortunately being eco-friendly isn’t cheap nowadays.

Still for the golfer with a green conscience (and not to mention, the ability to keep the ball in play), they are a must have purchase.

The most expensive golf club membership

Did you think Augusta would come top of this pile? Well it is not even close. Membership at Augusta is rumoured to be ‘only’ around $30,000 to $50,000 a year, but it is obtaining the invitation to join which makes it so exclusive and almost impossible to become a member of.

However, for the super-rich there are plenty of other options and the most expensive seems to be the Liberty National Course in New Jersey, which reportedly has annual fees of around $77,000.

You do get a lot for your membership though such as use of the onsite heliport, yacht services and a wide range of spa services.

So if money is no object then these are perhaps the luxury golf items to own, though just one salient point remains which is that no matter how much you spend on equipment, it may not make you any better with a golf club in your hand.
