Week 15 Rankings (2018): Top 15 Kickers

Just don’t cost me the season… At this point that’s all you really want from your kicker. Of course you want to maximize your production at the position, but minimizing the risk is also a priority. Let’s jump right into how our options rank:

1. Justin Tucker – Baltimore Ravens – vs. Tampa Bay
2. Greg Zuerlein – LA Rams – vs. Philadelphia
3. Will Lutz – New Orleans Saints – at Carolina
4. Jason Myers – NY Jets – vs. Houston
5. Ka’imi Fairbairn – Houston Texans – at NY Jets
6. Aldrick Rosas – NY Giants – vs. Tennessee
7. Brett Maher – Dallas Cowboys – at Indianapolis
8. Stephen Gostkowski – New England Patriots – at Pittsburgh
9. Harrison Butker – Kansas City Chiefs – vs. LA Chargers
10. Matt Bryant – Atlanta Falcons – vs. Arizona
11. Adam Vinatieri – Indianapolis Colts – vs. Dallas
12. Mason Crosby – Green Bay Packers – at Chicago
13. Cody Parkey – Chicago Bears – vs. Green Bay
14. Dan Bailey – Minnesota Vikings – vs. Miami
15. Robbie Gould – San Francisco 49ers – vs. Seattle

Notes:

• I have been trying to generate some noise around Jason Myers over the past few weeks, but it doesn’t appear to be working. That just means there is plenty of opportunity available as the top ranked option, based on production, so far this season is owned in just 23% of ESPN leagues. The Jets’ offense has had their share of issues moving the ball, and Myers has been there all season to take advantage of the situation. He is up to 30 field goals out of 32 kicks, and more importantly distance doesn’t appear to be an issue for him. This week, against a tough Houston defense, New York will once again struggle which means Myers will be busy.
• So we talked about minimizing risk, but if you want to take a chance on a long shot then perhaps Daniel Carlson is your guy? His Week 2 debacle in which he missed all three of his field goal attempts is long behind us, and Carlson hasn’t missed a kick in the last five weeks. With 10 extra points in the last four weeks, along with seven field goals, he is getting his fair share of work despite Oakland’s struggles. We also should note the fact that the Bengals struggle on defense and have allowed the second most points to opposing kickers this season.
• All of a sudden the Giants’ offense looks pretty good, and Aldrick Rosas has benefited. He is another kicker that fantasy owners haven’t truly taken note of as despite being a Top 10 option he is available in about 80% of ESPN leagues. Not only does Rosas get a plethora of opportunities, but he has also been remarkably proficient at converting them. For the first time all season he did miss an extra point attempt last week, but he did convert his other four attempts and both of his field goals (28 of 29 on the season).
