Sanchez Needs To Show Up... Because It's Frustrating

A lot of worry about what’s going on with Gary Sanchez. It seems that whenever there are big games, there is struggle from this guy.  You gotta agree in some regard. I mean, he seems invisible right now in the ALCS.  It’s frustrating…. it really is.

This is a great little nugget I want to share. It’s from NJ.com…

“Aaron Boone was covering for his struggling slugger. When asked whether he would consider moving catcher Gary Sanchez in the lineup when the implication was clearly the idea would be to drop him further down the batting order, Boone responded somewhat incredulously.

‘Well,’ Boone said at a press conference at Yankee Stadium on Monday, a day before facing the Astros in Game 3 of the American League Championship Series. 

‘He’s been hitting seventh. You want to move him up or down?’ The reporter clarified. He meant down. 

‘No,’ Boone said. 

Sanchez has been awful at the plate since returning from a groin strain that sidelined him for two weeks, hitting just .130 (3-for-23).”

Now it’s kind of ridiculous to think that Sanchez should bat 8th or 9th considering he’s already down in the lineup. The other thing is there’s always that thing in the back of everyone’s mind that he’s gonna break out at any time. The problem is he hasn’t yet.

In the end though? He needs to show up.  He needs to be there for his team. These are the Astros we’re playing.  That bat needs to get hot… he needs to break out now.

Will he? Well… I’ll tell you something, if he doesn’t, it could really be the difference of if we can get over the Astros hump or not.  I know it’s one bat and it seems like it’s no big deal, but trust me, Sanchez is valuable.

We want to see him dominate… like… now!
