Devil attacks girls at school in Trinidad, West Indies

Authorities: The devil possessed girls.

Princes Town, Trinidad – The devil himself paid a visit to the Moruga Composite School on the island of Trinidad. At least that’s what school officials and the religious community believe.

The strange episode began when some schoolgirls in the cafeteria complained of nausea and others expressed a feeling of faintness. Soon the symptoms spread to other girls and worried school authorities did what they could to help the students.

That’s when a weird turn of events took place that seemed lifted from the pages of “The Exorcist.”

A student at the school who witnessed the bizarre ‘attack’ talked with a reporter from Trinidad’s largest newspaper. Kern Mollineau told the interviewer that he became concerned when he witnessed the stricken girls’ eyes roll up into their heads. Next, they collapsed, writhing and beating their arms and legs on the floor as if afflicted by some sort of seizure.

Mollineua, a member of the Lighthouse Tabernacle Church, asserts that the girls became possessed and while attempting to talk with one who rolled about on the floor, received a kick in the face. The student claimed that “One girl was blabbering as if in a strange language. I could not understand what she was saying. The girls were unusually strong. We had to hold them down so that they will [sic] not hurt themselves…Many of them had bruises.”

Teachers corroborated Mollineua’s story and added that many of the girls suddenly seemed to acquire a super-human strength.

The affected girls–a total of 17–were carried by other students and some teachers to a large study hall. At that point, Mollineua recalls, the girls became semi-conscious. Some were described as “speaking in tongues” spouting unintelligible gibberish.

Worried school officials called on the police and religious authorities to help.

A caravan of six ambulances responded to the distress calls, accompanied by the local police. The girls were in the process of being removed to the ambulances when Roman Catholic priests and pastors of other churches arrived to assist on the spiritual side. The ministers sprinkled holy water over the girls and prayed over them as they were loaded into the waiting ambulances. the girls were taken to Princes Town Health Facility and physically examined.

The fire department showed up as well.  A contingent of firemen from the Princes Town Fire Station, led by acting Assistant Divisional Fire Officer Ramdeo Boodoo arrived at the Moruga Composite School to investigate the environment. Because some of the girls complained of headaches, Boodoo suspected the girls might have been exposed to some environment poison such as vapors or molds.

One question posed is why only those girls fell ill while the other students experienced no ill effects.

Initial tests of the surroundings turned up no evidence and Badoo admitted that no cause could be found that could cause the girls’ stomach distress, light-headedness and fainting spells. More tests are planned to discover the cause of the girls’ sudden illness.

The police investigation is continuing.
