Witness Statement: Driving between Irvine and Kilmarnock down the motorway to Kilmarnock from Irvine a flash which illuminated the whole sky was seen…bursts of this flashing was happening 2-5 minutes at a time…it was lighting up the whole sky while it was happening. I was sitting in Morison’s car park while my partner was in the shop, whilst sitting in the car the lights illuminated the whole sky again several other times. It was a freezing cold night with clear skies to start with then it started raining towards the end of the night, my daughter also spotted this whilst walking to Glasgow Bus Station from Townhead…she thought it was a bright camera flash at the time or lights from the city buildings but when she seen it several times it she didn’t believe a camera flash could light up the sky. Having looked into this and see a lot of people seeing this in the sky and people seeing various different flashes in the sky, some blue green (which we spotted) some seen red orange. I have photographic evidence from someone on facebook who seen this as well but was miles away from Glasgow or Ayrshire. I know that many people might have witnessed this on the evening of October 4th. I have been looking into it for a while to see what it actually was as it was very puzzling.
