White Gables Ghosts Back-- Just In Time For Halloween
Last night, it sounded like Shayla was having a small party or something. Someone was stomping around, we heard cupboard doors opening and shutting, a woman was talking loudly to someone (I guessed she was on the phone), faucets were turned on and off, and someone was watching Shayla’s HDTV at a very loud volume. I was surprised, because Shayla rarely has guests, and when anyone ever comes over, they are very quiet. It was out of character, so both Gerick and I kept looking at each other. But hey– Shayla’s such a great neighbor, of course we were going to cut her slack…
I was puzzled to look outside and see no cars in the parking lot but ours though. A couple of people were home in other apartments while others were out, but Shayla is the only one in her unit, so if her car’s gone, so is she. Was her car in the shop and she was having a friend over (who also gave her a ride?) I didn’t know. It was all kind of weird, but whatever.
But then at 11:30 Shayla’s car pulls up. She was alone in the car. I heard someone next door in her apartment stomp up the stairs and go into the bathroom and then all was quiet. Later, Shayla was taking a shower and going to bed by the time we were in bed in our unit.
We harvested the last of the peppers along with the pumpkins today. Lots of ‘em! (Pics for sure at some point.) Shayla came over and I gave her some of my yellow bell peppers and then asked her if she had a friend over watching her place yesterday.
And she just looked at me and shook her head. She was at a Fiona Apple concert last night (side note: apparently Fiona Apple is a tweaker now, and was manic on stage and it was a crazy show) and came home just when I saw her. No one was in her apartment when she got home. Both Gerick and I told her we distinctly heard people in her apartment quite loudly talking and watching TV and stomping around and such. Since I saged her place right before she moved in, I realized it was due for another treatment. The last time, the sage and wards worked very well to chase the phantoms out and kept things quiet in both her AND my apartment for almost 9 months now. Good to know how often a haunted apartment needs to be saged to keep the ghosties away.
*sighs* This is what being a manager of a haunted apartment means. Maintenance of the astral variety as well as physical. Luckily these ghosts are not aggressive to anyone but– well, sometimes Gerick. We’ve noticed they’re very respectful of female tenants, so that’s good. But who wants to feel watched and have their pad become party central to a bunch of invisible people? I have sage so I can get it done this weekend.
Seems apropos for the season at least!
