Cool Summer Continues...

There is no doubt that this is the strangest summer I’ve ever seen here in the PNW.

I said last month that July 7th was the latest in the summer before we switched from soft spring rains to our dry season and very warm to mildly hot temps. Well– its a month AFTER that and we are still maybe one or two warm sunny days a week and mostly rain or cool cloudy days.

NOT that I am complaining… It fits my moods, and I just don’t feel “summer” in my soul right now. I want dark clouds and rain and wind and having the weather mirror my feelings is rather satisfying in some odd way.

I suspect that its the lingering effects of the El Nino– taking longer to switch out with the freaky jet streams these days. I further surmise that when we finally DO switch to summer weather here that we’ll have a summer that goes well into October and a very delayed or absent winter. We’ll see!
