Painted My Study Tiffany Blue

The room I’ve rented for a study, right across the hall from my bedroom, faces the back yard and has a weird sort of light amorphous wallpaper on one wall. The rest of the walls are dingy off-white, and I couldn’t stand it…

So I asked my roomies if I could paint it (and the bedroom as well.) They agreed, and I chose a pretty pastel blue-green color that I called ‘candy blue’ as a child. Today, most call it ‘Robin’s Egg Blue’ or ‘Tiffany Blue’ after the classic color of Tiffany’s merchandise packages. I chose the color because I wanted soothing, but also refreshing. Something calming, but not depressing. I just finished a short time ago and it looks great! Totally changes the feeling of the room, and yet blends in well and even enhances the wallpaper. The color also looks good with my darker furniture (black and dark cherry wood) to a surprising extent.

Cat was impressed enough to ask me to help her with some painting in her basement area in a few weeks– she’s not sure what to do with it, but I have some skill with color and interior decor. (I did take a semester of it in high school, and then another semester in community college.) I would love to help her!

Feels good to make a place my own, not to mention the feeling of pride I always get for a job done well that I can enjoy for many months to come!
