Cleo Okay-- Treated At Home For Residual Poison

Cleo came out of the seizures and didn’t have any more. They checked her blood, but it doesn’t appear she was poisoned by the left-over rat stuff that may have been in the back yard, but perhaps a combination of things. She’s taking Vitamin K pills for the next week twice a day to make sure her body processes whatever this stuff may have been. It won’t hurt her, but it will treat 2 possible toxins she could have been exposed to, so we’re covering that possibility.

However, there’s a chance it was just over-excitement that triggered a congenital seizure disorder. We’re still not sure, but we’re alert now and can keep an eye out and if she does that again after play time outside we’ll know it wasn’t poison.

Best news is: Cleo is absolutely fine! No issues from that episode. Still alert, coordinated, eating and drinking and playing like nothing ever happened. If it was a toxin, she got treatment in time. If it was congenital, then it didn’t do any lasting damage. She may have a version of feline epilepsy, apparently… Which can be treated with small doses of Valium, but that’s only recommended if she has seizures regularly, not for one-offs, so we’re holding back on anything of that nature for now.

I’m just glad she’s okay. Hearing Cat freak out when her favorite kitten became ill was heartbreaking, and it was even more disconcerting when my whole world went into business-action mode. My fear and concern got buried very quickly. I wonder where it went? I was glad when it was over, and everyone was okay, but I never had any delayed reactions or anything. I just went back to feeling like my normal, nervous self…

I don’t get it. I guess that’s why I’ve been doing the dreamwork and IFS stuff. Maybe my emergency Ray parts kicked in, took over, and then let go the way they’re supposed to and I’m not having PTSD kickback for once. Wouldn’t that be nice?
