Audio Only Nightmares

The nightmares continue– and last night with a fun new difference: audio without visual dreams.

I listen to podcasts before falling asleep. Comedy before bed and spooky or intellectual when I get up in the morning. It’s a part of my routine, and it helps me to either wake up or fall asleep without having to see or look at anything.

I believe that translated to audio only dreams at times, and last night was freaky.

It began with a very violent nightmare of a man beating up a woman. I could hear him threatening her, things breaking, the sound of him attacking her, and her cries of fear. It was AWFUL!! I awoke, shook it off and fell asleep, though I was disturbed.

The next audio dream was of a multiple car pile up crash, and you could hear car after car and the sound of fire and screams and metal scraping pavement. It was crazy. Woke up and managed to shake if off again and fall asleep.

Third nightmare was all about some disaster and people running for their lives. I woke up the third time much faster and made myself stay awake for a while until I was truly in a different mental space before daring to sleep again.

Ug.- Now I’m super tired!

Processing fears of my whole life falling apart I think– like delayed reactions from my divorce. The fact the nightmares all began with an argument between a man and a woman helps to illustrate that. Thankfully, my husband was never physically violent with me. (I would have retaliated and he knew it.) But there was emotional violence coming from him, and threats, and that made me feel like I was in some disaster, so that makes sense to me.

I know I need to allow my subconscious to process all this shit, but it is NOT EASY to endure in the meantime!
