Pleasant Beltane

Beltane, the pagan Valentine’s Day, was observed by my household. We just tried some cocktails with floral liqueurs and watched a movie together, but that was something.

We also went through all the Sabbats (holidays) and special cosmic events (Lunar and Solar Eclipse in August!) for the rest of the year on a calendar and made some tentative plans for the future.

Cat wants us all to start to celebrate the pagan holidays together, as well as Esbats (full or dark moon meetings) and begin to get back in touch with the Wheel of the Year and our beliefs. I’m all for that. I’m not quite at the enthusiastic participant level of commitment, but that’s just because I’ve been in recovery after the divorce. It will take time for me to feel completely okay again, and I’m sure my excitement will improve.

For now, it is baby steps for us. Nothing too crazy or hard. Just finding ways to have nice times together and heed the turnings of the seasons. That seems sound to me.
