The “ology” that dare not speak its name

Now that “The Love that dare not speak its name” (homosexuality) is celebrated openly with parades (Pride) and TV shows, movies, the next beleaguered “perversion” (ufology) should follow suit, becoming an “honored” and “touted” activity.
As you can see from my back-and-forth with Paul Kimball, earlier here, and my long-time disdain of “ufology” and most of its followers, I find the UFO phenomenon besmirched in ways that mimic the historic and rightful antagonism toward acts outside the natural law.
(Now I’m not slamming “love” – whatever that is – but the use of sexuality for activity that Thomas Aquinas and Sigmund Freud found to be against nature. Of course, one could make the case that same-sex dalliances are evolutionarily ordained, but I don’t see it that way.)
Ufology, like its sexual counterpart, has advocates that promote and extol the endeavor, as weak and smattered as that endeavor is and has always been.
Ufology, like active homoeroticism, has taken us nowhere, just as same-sex activity doesn’t promote creation or the human race.
Yet, with all the clamor that ufology is not seen by the masses as a grievous activity or sin, I imagine that it will become, as my pal Paul Kimball and other UFO buffs have it, an honored and “sacred” activity, right up there with Pride Week’s lauded life-style.
The affection for UFOs I have and have had for many years remains intact, just as my attraction to homosexuality, and a college term paper on one of my favorite books about that human activity – The Caricature of Love by Hervey Cleckley – is still intact.
But neither fealty to UFOs or the pathology of homosexuality will temper my distaste for activity that has as its end product a result that is useless and without edifying meaning.

What do UFOs & gays have in common? I’ve seen four UFOs, but I am opposed to gay “stuff”.
