Conspiracies & Spies Don't Have To Be Governmental

The mainstream “lamestream” media makes fun of people who talk about conspiracies. The immediate response by conventional sources of authority is to pooh-pooh the whole idea of conspiracies and ridicule anyone who dares to even bring up the concept! 

The truth is that, yes, there is fake news and bogus bullshit everywhere. However, the truth is also that conspiracies actually happen. All throughout history, conspiracy is the very STUFF of human behavior in the halls of power. Too quickly dismissing allegations of conspiracy is a great way to ensure that actual schemes beyond the law (let alone ethics) will continue unchecked.

Yet those in the fringe news need to update their notion that governmental conspiracies are all that happen. It is not always Big Brother who is watching and interfering… but someone else may be!

Private corporations and powerful, moneyed individuals can hire companies staffed with former governmental spies to do spycraft on their behalf. These private contractors are paid much better than official national spies are– yet have all the training and experience of their former careers to recommend them. They have all the contacts and methods of operation they had before, and then some– as they have more resources in the private sector– all for hire to any agency or person who can pay for their services.

Think about it.

A perfect example was exposed today regarding Harvey Weinstein. It appears he used such services to gather intelligence on, blackmail, and intimidate his victims. People wonder why women didn’t speak out? It appears Weinstein spent a lot of personal time and money ensuring that they wouldn’t!

The objective: to obtain as much dirt possible in order to shut down investigations into his personal life. The depths Weinstein went to is staggering. “According to dozens of pages of documents, and seven people directly involved in the effort, the firms that Weinstein hired included Kroll, one of the world’s largest corporate intelligence companies, and Black Cube, an enterprise run largely by former officers of Mossad and other Israeli intelligence agencies,” the New Yorker reports. “Over the course of a year, Weinstein had the agencies ‘target,’ or collect information on, dozens of individuals, and compile psychological profiles that sometimes focused on their personal or sexual histories. Weinstein monitored the progress of the investigations personally. He also enlisted former employees from his film enterprises to join in the effort, collecting names and placing calls that, according to some sources who received them, felt intimidating.”
