Operation Kitty

Tonight, a friend is smuggling Sharn’s cat, Mez, into the hospital to see her. If Sharn is still here tomorrow, I’ll visit then, but I couldn’t deal with the anxiety of breaking rules, even if I think it is for a noble cause. I know my body well enough to avoid that kind of stress.

Luckily, Judy is far more brave. A Type 7 Enneagram-wise, who loves adventure and does not shy from risk, she has volunteered to get Mez in. The nurses are actually supporting this. They have compassion for a dying woman to see her beloved pet one last time, so they’ve okayed it. Still, there is the rest of the hospital staff to worry about. Not so much this time of night, luckily, but it is enough to stay my own, rather wimpy, hand!

Mez is a pretty chill feline, or we wouldn’t attempt it. Still, I hope he’s calm for the trip and while there. I don’t think he’ll freak, but I’m not sure. Another reason I avoided the situation. I’d be worried the entire time and unable to visit with Sharn at all.

If all goes well, Sharn will wake up and get to cuddle with her kitty a little. Then Judy is driving him right back home again. I’ll give him some treats for it as well.

I hope it works! I hope this was a good idea.

Judy told me that Sharn is starting to have death bed visions. She sees things in the room no one else can. She’s not sleeping much, but she is in and out of trance-like states. Cat says she’s scared to even leave the room for a minute as Sharn seems so close to passing. She did better last weekend, but now she’s declining rapidly.
