Freud’s contribution to human behavior allows that the human sex drive is “sublimated” (dynamically altered) into acceptable, creative activity: art, music, literature, sport, business, crime, and almost everything outside the sex act itself.
Watching Blue Planet II shows that Earth’s creatures, aside from man, while often acting creatively – thinking, it seems to me, not just being instinctive as I’ve recently noted here – are consumed by eating (to survive) and mating (engaging in struggles, serious battles, and deception to do so) and that’s it.
While most creatures are careful to look after their offspring, they do not go beyond the mating rituals and their accoutrements (offspring protection and care or upbringing).
That is, all living creatures (flora and fauna) struggle to survive and mate, whilst man does the same but sublimates (creatively alters) his mating drive into other behaviors mostly creative but sometimes malicious or evil behavior that has little to do, seemingly, with sexuality or sexual activity.
So, I ask, if UFOs are the vehicles of for species off the Earth, does that species have a sex drive and is it sublimated?
Do ETs change, as we humans do, their sexual proclivities and channel any mating or sexual activity into space exploration or are UFO observational activity voyeuristic in nature, one of the human psycho-neurotic patterns of those who have trouble sublimating?
Do ETs have a sex drive, aside from the confabulated tales from UFO abduction experiencers?
Or are ETs, automatons (robot-like beings or even AI creations) with no sexual desires at all?
Does the lack of “cultural artifacts” in UFO encounters indicate a lack of sublimation?
Or do ETs only engage in sex acts, without disguising or deflecting them into acceptable (or other) behavior?
Wouldn’t the desire to explore the galaxy or universe be a form of sublimation itself?
Or are the human visions of UFOs and sometimes encounters with “beings” from them just one more form of human sublimation?
(And have I had too much Valentine candy lately?)
