Results of Regular Lyrica + Supplements Even More Spectacular Than Hoped For!

I am in great shape, all things considered…

… except my mid-back. I hurt myself lifting a fairly light end table the wrong way. Now my mid-back is stiff and sore and threatening to go into spasms at any second. I’ve really given my back a workout in the last week for sure! I’ve taken some extra magnesium to prevent spasms and help heal my back, and I’m done lifting for the day at least. Luckily, I have finished packing up my rooms, with all the stuff I have to get at to live for the next month or so neatly put away in bins under the bed or on shelves in closets (which have also been cleared out and packed.) I have 2 small boxes left to pack and I have to straighten out my “nest” — which is my chair and the end table and floor next to the chair. Then– just cleaning left and my area is DONE.

Meanwhile, I have a new regimen program in the last 2 weeks that seems to be working like gangbusters:

1. blood pressure meds & weaning off last of generic cymbalta

2. L-tyrosine supplement to help regulate over-active nerves

3. rotating vitamins (so I don’t have tons of pills to take a day)

4. 1 or 2 magnesium supplements (as caffeine and physical labor diminish this vital mineral)

5. for the last few days– Lyrica 50mg every morning, and a second by early evening only if needed

Nothing too crazy, just making sure to religiously take what I know makes me feel better and it took a week to see the difference, but it is really amazing. The Lyrica took maybe 2 days to get in my system and even out, but now that on top of the rest is working SO well, I am almost freaked out.

No– seriously, I haven’t felt this good, let alone 2 or more days in a row, in YEARS. To begin with, I was just feeling good by afternoon. But now that meds and supplements have become more normalized in my system, I’m waking up feeling great! Like, oh my goddess!

The other interesting ‘side effect’ of the combination of meds/supplements is that it has destroyed my fatigue flares. I still get a little foggy, but my energy level is NORMAL– which for me is exceedingly more energetic than I am used to. Even my ‘good days’ are barely up to this standard of energy, and I’ve been having SO MANY FLARES in the last year that all my ambitions and projects have been greatly sidelined. To beat that back and come floating to the surface again is just beyond miraculous for me!

On top of that (as if all this wasn’t already amazing enough) I am in the best freaking mood! Lyrica is known to improve mood via calming over-active brain processes that create anxiety. I only realize how anxious I am when I get a break from it and can feel the massive difference. To someone whose life is dominated by PTSD, Generalized Anxiety Disorder and several phobias, this– THIS is absolutely life changing. I can’t state this as strongly as I feel it and am living it– it is undeniably transformative.

I almost don’t know what to do with myself!

There is a chance that my body will acclimate to what I’m taking and ‘calm down’ into a more normalized and less ecstatic state– maybe? The thing is, though, that I think that what I’m interpreting as transformative may be simple ‘functional’ to most people who take their day to day physical and mental health for granted. Still, things may not work as well as this down the road a mite.

For now, I’m keeping careful track and taking notes and moving forward. I don’t know if the combination is truly kicking the fatigue in the butt, or if that is a coincidence– but, oh my gawd… if I can live my life without pain nor fatigue nor anxiety decimating my life, everything, and I mean everything, will change for me!

I don’t want to get ahead of myself, or hope too hard that THIS amazing functionality will actually be my new normal. I am cautiously optimistic officially.

Unofficially, I am feeling SO good, and I am SO happy that every minute feels like a celebration of sorts. My undeniable good mood is, in turn, buoying up both Cat & Tess, neither of whom is exactly a bastion of bubbles or smiley faces! (I mean, Tess is a total Goth and Cat tends to whine when aggrieved.) I am taken aback at my own giddiness, quite frankly.

Yet, at 50 to 100 mg of Lyrica, I am not the slightest bit high in any way. I have noted that when I have to take 200mg for a serious flare, I am definitely in the loopy zone, though it is mild, rather like being tipsy on wine. In addition, taking a lower dose daily does seem to have the preventative effect I was hoping for, rather than having to use it to break a flare that already has a hold of me. I’ve never had enough Lyrica in my possession before to ever conceive of such a routine. I am beyond grateful for this.

I will continue to update on this aspect of my health. In a nutshell, I’m aces!
