Los Angeles native Mike Stone reports on the homelessness, crime and corruption that is turning California into a third world shithole. Despite all this, Mike explains why he has no plans to leave.

I was standing near the edge of the subway platform when I saw the punch coming.

My would-be assailant was a black male in his twenties. I’d noticed him moments earlier, out of the corner of my eye, approaching quickly from the side. At five o’clock in the morning, we were the only ones on the subway platform at the Hollywood and Vine station. Why was he walking directly towards me?

His speed increased and when he was three feet away, I saw his right fist come up and his arm cock back. I immediately spun around to face him and threw up an arm to block his punch. He saw my block coming, pulled his fist down, and ran past me.

He wasn’t looking for a fight, he was looking for a sucker punch followed by a fast getaway. And if I hadn’t been paying attention, he would have clocked me in the side of the face. As close as I was to the edge of the platform, I might have tumbled onto the subway tracks and gotten run over by the next incoming train. Just another nameless and forgotten victim of the Knockout Game.

Welcome to the shithole.

In Los Angeles – one of the most heavily-taxed cities, in one of the most heavily-taxed states in the nation – liberalism reigns supreme, stupidity abounds and poverty is everywhere. Literally everywhere.

Tents and cardboard shelters litter the sidewalks of many city streets. On skid row, entire city blocks are occupied by tens of thousands of homeless men and women, eighty-percent of them black. They blanket the beaches of Venice and Santa Monica. At night, you can find hundreds of them sleeping in subway cars or sprawled out on the station platforms. In place of a bathroom, they relieve themselves in the subway station elevators, which are constantly filled with puddles of piss.

The stench in these elevators is impossible to describe and is now so ingrained it cannot be removed no matter how strong the cleaning agents used. Occasionally, you’ll find a black male lying passed out in one of these piss puddles. (Now that Starbucks has opened their doors to transients and non-paying customers, it’s only a matter of time before all of their locations start smelling like piss too.)

Two weeks ago, I stepped into one of those piss-smelling subway elevators. A black male in his twenties stood hunched in the corner with his pants pulled down to his knees and his hand inside his boxer shorts, jerking off.

This isn’t a one-time thing; it’s a daily, all-the-time thing that anyone who rides the subway in Los Angeles is familiar with. Forget about calling security, there isn’t any. I’ve seen women robbed and men assaulted on the subway trains. When you press the button to call the conductor, nothing happens. The police never come, no one gets arrested, the perpetrators walk free.

You might be shocked at some of this, but I assure you it’s happening all over Los Angeles; not in Beverly Hills, where the cops will roust you if your car breaks down on one of their streets, nor in Malibu; but certainly in every lower class or middle class area of the city. It’s become so ingrained, that most residents don’t even flinch anymore. They just accept it and move on. And then they continue to vote Democrat in every election, which only perpetuates the problem.

CORRUPT POLITICIANS, CRIME

Antonio Villaraigosa, the city’s former Hispanic mayor and a Democrat, had over two hundred full-time city-paid assistants while he was in office, yet nothing at all changed under his “leadership.” In fact, the city grew progressively worse. If you, or I, or anyone with above average intelligence, had two hundred paid, full-time assistants, we could end homelessness in Los Angeles – if not the entire state of California – in less than three years. Villaraigosa spent eight years in office and didn’t accomplish a damn thing. He’s now running for governor.

Our current Jewish mayor, Eric Garcetti, left, a Democrat, has been in office since 2013. I don’t know how many full-time paid assistants he has, probably the same number as Villaraigosa, and he hasn’t accomplished a damn thing in his five years in office, either. Entire areas of the city are collapsing under his tenure.

Crime is everywhere. When I had a car, it was broken into more than once. At a former apartment building in Hollywood, I was once startled by the sound of breaking glass outside my kitchen. I looked out the window to see a Hispanic male climbing up a makeshift ladder to the apartment above mine. I called the cops and they arrested the guy.

At the first court hearing, I sat for hours as defendant after defendant, all black and all of them charged with violent crimes, was hauled before the judge, while their ill-prepared public defenders pleaded with the court for more time, which was granted in every case. Occasionally, one of the defendants would turn and cast a menacing glance at a witness seated on one of the courtroom benches and hysterical screams would break out. My neighbor, the one who had his apartment broken into, was also black. As all of this was taking place, he whispered in my ear, “I’m sorry you have to experience this.”

Welcome to the shithole.

RAMPANT WELFARE

Why do people stand for it? Possibly because nearly everyone in this city is on some form of government assistance. When the middle-class Korean woman who owns the salon where I get my hair cut asked me why I wasn’t on food stamps, I turned to her and said, “Are you?” She blushed and giggled.

A black security guard at a former job asked me the same thing. I responded with my own question: “Don’t you have to be broke or out of a job to get food stamps?” He looked at me like I was crazy and said, “Man, you don’t know nothing.”

When I go to the market it’s rare – and I mean extremely rare – when the person in front of me isn’t paying for their groceries with an EBT card. I’ve seen women dressed in what looked like fur coats and wearing what looked like diamond jewelry, paying for their overstuffed shopping carts with EBT cards.

Indeed, being on the government dole is part and parcel of living in Los Angeles. And you know who is paying for it? You and I, that’s who.

Is anyone going to step forward and help turn this city around? I doubt it. Our political leaders are all do-nothings, who care nothing at all about the welfare of the people they govern over. Our business and religious leaders are the same. And don’t even get me started on the smug, hypocritical perverts who make up the entertainment industry. If you’re not talking about them, they’re not listening.

We have an election here on June 5. Aside from Patrick Little, who is running for senator, I don’t know if there’s a single honest person on the ballot.

In the end, it’s going to come down to the individual citizens of this city, the ones that make up the working and middle classes. They’re the real heroes. But they’re so strapped just trying to stay afloat that social and political change is the furthest thing from their minds. They’re doing all they can just to survive.

WHY DO I STAY?

Why do I stay, you ask? The answer could fill a book. Like the protagonist in my novel “A New America”, I originally moved to California to pursue movies and acting. At the time, I naively thought the business was about talent. I had no idea it was overrun by hacks, pizzagate perverts and liberal zombies, all of whom are more concerned with social engineering than entertainment.

I stay now because I enjoy city living. I like being less than a mile away from the post office, the library, the grocery store; basically anything I need within walking distance. And I’m not convinced that any other major city in this country would be much different than what I’m experiencing here, as almost every major city in this country is under Democratic control. If anyone reading this can suggest a nice city to move to, please do so.

I stay because I enjoy what’s left of health-freedom that exists in California. It used to be one of the few states that did not require childhood vaccinations, and I always thought that if I did have kids one day, that would be the ideal. Alas, that freedom is now gone.

However, California does remain one of the few states where raw milk is legal. Here, I can get raw milk and raw butter from grass-fed cows, along with grass-fed meat. The health benefits of those items are too numerous to list here. In Los Angeles, I have access to any type of organic produce I want, and I can find practitioners of any health regimen you can name, from reiki to oxygen therapy to everything in between. Health is an area of high interest to me.

Finally, I stay because I love the people – the poor working and middle-class people that make up most of this city. The poor and middle-class people of Los Angeles are kind, loving and compassionate people doing the best they can. They know something is wrong, but they can’t quite put their finger on it. They don’t read websites like this one, they don’t realize they are being lied to and manipulated.

Perhaps I can help them.

Perhaps I’m only dreaming.
