Chickens & Milkshakes

Cat has developed a relationship with an organic Feed & Seed store locally. Not able to find anyone to take the chickens while we move, Cat finally called them in desperation to ask for assistance. She’s been helping them breed an heirloom line of chickens, so several of the chickens wandering around the farm store grounds Cat raised. Luckily, Liz– the manager and friend of ours, had just had a new chicken pen set up. It’s for the next line of chickens they’re raising, but the chicks won’t be big enough for it for another 3 weeks, so she said Cat could house her flock in it for the duration while we move!

YAY!!!!

Today, we managed to lure all the chickens into the coop, where Cat took them out, one by one, and put them into animal carriers. They hollered until we had them all together, even if in separate crates. Then we drove them to the Farm Store and they were super quiet. We carried them out to their new digs for the next few weeks, and they soon settled in, no problem!

Then– it was off to The Tipsy Cow for my birthday!

The restaurant sells great burgers, but– more importantly– they also sell milkshakes with alcohol. I had a bananas foster milkshake with rum, and then a salted caramel milkshake with whiskey! YUMMY! I was in a pretty good mood on the drive home! LOL! Cat actually said she was sorry we couldn’t do more for my birthday, and I replied cheerfully, “No worries! You got me a Victorian house for my birthday! I’m good!” She laughed and all was well, because it was true, and I really couldn’t ask for a better present! Granted, I won’t own it officially, but living there is close enough, as far as I’m concerned!

We have a week to be packed. I don’t know how much I can do, but I’ll be super busy all week. I’m tired already.
