Plans Upended, Ron In Hospital

It appears the “migraine chain” is over! I’m not having issues with light anymore, and my flares have lightened up a LOT.

So… of course I’ve been playing catch-up for the last week. Mostly with helping my sister with various and sundry, and she’s just about settled in, and I don’t have to hover as much, which I’m sure is nice for both of us!

I was expecting my aunt Dora to pick up my sister today, but when I called Sunday– she told me plans have changed, as my uncle Ronald is now in the hospital. It’s serious and he may not make it out… he’s had on and off again issues with cancer for years, so maybe it caught up to him at last? Dora declined to go into details other than to say these things happen when people are 79 years old. She DID cry over the phone a little, so her husband (that she’s been fighting with like cats and dogs since I was a wee thing) being gravely ill has actually rattled her.

Okay– so I get her feeling overwhelmed between my mother and her husband. Sure– I get that.

My sister will go home (at least for a while, until our mother collapses again) either this coming weekend or the one after that. I’m sending her home with a letter written in a BIG font for easy reading to my mother about what food Erica needs to control her diabetes. I don’t know that it will do any good, but I’ll give it a try.

Meanwhile, as my sister learns things, I’m getting more of my time back again, which is good, because I’m behind on so many things…
