Binh Thuan permits last exploration of 4,000-ton gold treasure

VietNamNet Bridge – The People’s Committee of Binh Thuan Province has assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to design a project to explore the treasure with 4,000 tons of gold in Tuy Phong district.

For decades, many people have tried to hunt the famous treasure at Tau mount in Phuoc The commune, Tuy Phong district, Binh Thuan province.

According to the HCM City Law Newspaper, Binh Thuan authorities have instructed the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to design a project to explore the treasure. The first survey drillings will be made in the next several months. This will be the last exploration of the treasure.

It has been rumored that in World War II, before leaving Vietnam, Japanese General Tomoyuki Yamashita buried around 4,000 tons of gold and a lot of valuables worth around $100 billion in the Tau mount. The treasures are the assets that the Japanese General pillaged from pagodas, banks and museums in Asian countries.

It is said that at that time, the general commanded a train with sealed carriages from Saigon to Suoi Kiet station in Binh Thuan province. The train was guarded by a company of Japanese soldiers. At midnight, some ethnic minority youngsters in Suoi Kiet and their headman were ordered to unload goods from the train and carry the goods to the eastern forest.

Some people said that they have the map of the treasure.

Tran Van Tiep, from HCM City, is the most enthusiastic treasure hunter. Tiep told Thanh Nien Newspaper that he has many old documents about this treasure. After World War II, many Japanese came to Vietnam to find this treasure but they failed.

Tiep unearthed a Japanese sword, some Japanese coins, a metal pipe, two Japanese badges, etc. at the Tau mount. He said these are evidences for the existence of the treasure.

On October 16 1993, Chairman of Binh Thuan province – Dang Van Hai – granted license Tiep to “search for metal” at the Tau mount. Tiep hired both engineers and telepaths to seek the treasure.

This man has been hunting for the treasure since 1994 but he has not found the treasure yet.
