Overlay for New Form 4473 Now Available from NSSF
NEWTOWN, Conn --(Ammoland.com)- The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the trade association for the firearms, ammunition, hunting and shooting sports industry, announces the availability of an overlay for the new, revised Form 4473 Firearms Transaction Record.
For which the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) mandated its use, effective July 9 of this year. The overlay serves as a template that facilitates the accurate completion of the revised Form 4473.
The NSSF has recently mailed a free overlay to all of its Retail Members in good standing. Additional overlays are free to all NSSF members. Furthermore, NSSF is making the overlays available to nonmembers at a cost of $7.50 each. Overlays are packaged two (2) per pack and quantities of one or two packs (2 or 4 overlays, respectively) can be requested and fulfilled online. Those retailers needing larger quantities should contact Ann Siladi at NSSF directly either by email to [email protected] or by phone at 203-426-1320.
“It is obviously in the best interests of everyone concerned to make sure this important form is complete and correct,” said Patrick Shay, NSSF director, retail development, “and NSSF is pleased to be able to continue to provide Federal Firearms Licensees this valuable aid to help ensure the 4473, with its recent revisions to boxes 10a and 10b, is filled out as is required.”
