A few random thoughts……..
A few things that I have been doing or thinking about…….
- First thing and incredibly important - I just want to say “Thank You“ to all of you. I appreciate the comments, the interaction, the support – and even the criticism. I started this site over 2 years ago to reach out to other like-minded folks and it has worked out better than I imagined. I have also met some great people because of this site. Awesome!
- Thanks to AC for the following – http://www.crisishq.com/why-prepare/economic-collapse-inevitable/. Concerned about an economic collapse? Check it out.
- Guest Post Writing Contest – Next contest will start the beginning of October. If you would like to participate and share an experience your knowledge, thoughts, review of equipment, etc. start writing now. I am securing prizes now – looks to be a good one.
- Thanks to Bev and rethinksurvival.com - http://zombiehunters.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16627 . Forum thread on experiences during Hurricane Katrina. Recommended.
- I have recently started doing some grocery shopping at ALDI’s. If you have one in your area – check it out. Very, VERY good prices. I continue to be amazed at the prices skyrocketing at grocery stores and hear little fuss about it on the news. To be honest – I don’t hear much complaining from friends either. I guess people just accept it and do what they can. I am looking at getting into coupons again which I stopped a year ago due to a lack of time.
- I really appreciate the efforts of Valerie who does the news here at ModernSurvivalOnline. She does not get anything for it but is willing to contribute – THANKS VALERIE!!!!!!
- I am looking for someone who may be willing to help out over at SeasonedCitizenPrepper.com. Due to my lack of time I have not been posting over there like I want to and should. The ideal candidate would assist in writing articles obviously related to preparedness with some bearing an emphasis on the aging prepper. Writing skills are obviously needed as well as familiarity with preparedness. This is an opportunity which could lead to getting paid per article, or sharing in any revenue that may be generated from the site – to potentially shared ownership. If you are interested please email me at emergencycd(at)gmail.com and tell me about yourself and why you would like to do it. I need honesty and serious inquiries only. If I have too many candidates I may hold a writing contest whereby people submit writing samples – we’ll see.
- Found that frequent contributor and commentor Bev has written a series of guest posts over at rethinksurvival.com -
- Recent government agencies purchasing ammo – There has been a lot of talk about government agencies purchasing large quantities of ammunition. There is a suggestion that this stockpiling of ammunition is preparation for some type of civil disorder within the United States and that this ammunition will be used against its citizens. Is this true? I doubt it. I have performed some of my own math related to the number of armed agents and the amount of ammunition. Turns out that in many cases the rounds per agent is not as high as yu might think and seems logical. My question – Why is this all happening now? THAT seems suspicious.
- Things in life are getting VERY busy. Between keeping up with BestPreparednessDeals.com, ASurvivalStory.com, SeasonedCitizenPrepper.com, and of course this site – time is really lacking. With that said – ModernSurvivalOnline will likely be going Monday thru Friday. If this happens I will post an announcement about it.
- I see Ryan over at http://tslrf.blogspot.com/ recently changed the design of his site. I really like it and as usual Ryan has some good things to say.
- I have written about my efforts in the direction of health and fitness – especially involving Crossfit. My efforts continue and as I look back over the last several months I am really impressed with its effectiveness. I also am into my 4th week of a total diet change. I am now following a diet regimen that many Crossfitters follow called Paleo (or sometimes called the Caveman Diet). I will be writing a post all about Crossfit and Paleo soon. In the 4 weeks I have been doing Paleo I have dropped 15 pounds. I see the fat dropping each week – its great.
- Politics can be so frustrating – and should be nowadays regardless of which”side” you are on. I am on the American side and I suspect that if you gathered 10 people in a room – 5 liberals and 5 conservatives and asked general questions which involve government they would likely agree on more than they disagree. Amazingly both parties speak to want more job creation, lower debt, higher wages, lower gas prices, and family values. Gee – I wonder why it doesn’t happen? No – I really don’t wonder as i know the answer – or at least part of it. Corruption. Plain and simple.
