Prep Updates 12/03/12
Food for thought, we truly have very little (or none at all) privacy in the country. Cameras are everywhere and anyone is subject to monitoring. The sheeple say things like: “well if you aren’t doing anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about.” I beg to differ, I believe all law abiding citizens have a right to privacy and the right to keep the government out of their personal affairs.

Prepper Deals out on the Internet:
I’ve had quite a few emails about 22 survival rifles, and while I’m a big fan of the Ruger 10/22 I should not discount the effectiveness of the Henry Survival Rifle. It’s in stock over at CTD for $228.
Learning about the stars is a great way to increase your survivability rate. Keeping that in mind check out this little stocking stuffer, 75% off over at Woot, a Celestron SkyScout Personal Planetarium (today only).
Current events and opinion:
Men Find Careers in Collecting Disability
PJ: We have created a culture of dependence: “Between 1996 and 2011, the private sector generated 8.8 million new jobs, and 4.1 million people entered the disability rolls.”
Here’s how to secure your email and avoid becoming a ‘Petraeus’
PJ: Some simple tips to follow, if anything it’s a wake up call to the perception that the internet and email is “secure.”
Even without U.S. “cliff,” world economy teeters
PJ: This might be news to the MSM, but for those of us who have been paying attention for quite some time this is nothing new. The clock is ticking and this debt fueled bubble will burst soon enough.
Next Up For A “Recovering” Europe: A 30-50% Collapse In Wages In Spain, Italy And… France
PJ: Case in point…
Auto Surge: ‘People Are Buying Again’
PJ: People aren’t “buying” anything, they are financing because rates are so low. And why the heck not, especially when you can get that Escalade fully decked out at 2.0% APR for 72 months with no money down!
Veterans’ gun rights a sticky issue in defense bill
PJ: Pay very close attention to this issue. Think about how many of our veterans are returning from multiple tours of duty in combat, after which they are encouraged to seek counseling to help them cope. Many are diagnosed with mild to severe PTSD, the price they paid for a service to their country. Keeping that in mind take a look at this quote from the article:
Dan Gross, president of the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence, said gun control advocates consider the VA’s current policy reasonable.
“We’re talking about people who have some form of disability to the extent that they’re unable to manage their own affairs,” Gross said. “If you’re deemed unable to handle your own affairs, that’s likely to constitute a high percentage of people who are dangerously mentally ill.”
So…who is to determine what a “form of disability” is, and how much that impacts the ability to “manage their own affairs?”
