Free Wilderness Survival Program From Rocky Mountain Survival

The details of this short story are fictional partly because I do not remember them all and partly to protect my buddies hunting area.
A while back a friend of mine was going to go hunting with another friend but his friend could not go until the weekend and my friend was leaving on Thursday. I guess he had not made up his mind where he was going to go hunting until the morning he was leaving and could not call his buddy at work, so he told his wife where he was going.

He told her I am going to be in district 4, hunting on the flats near Bear Mountain but I will make camp at Blue Gill Lake. On Saturday morning you guessed it, she tells his buddy I can’t remember all the details but he did say he would make camp at Bear Lake.
I know you are thinking why didn’t she write it down and she did but could not find the paper she wrote it on. Well Bear Lake happened to be about 30 miles the other way.
We all thought this was funny and was a joke amongst us friends for a while. I got to thinking about this later and thought wow if that would have been an emergency my buddy would have been in real trouble.

Not everyone wants to tell someone where they are going when they venture into the wilderness and a lot of us cannot afford personal locators, so with all this in mind Rocky Mountain Survival had a program developed to help solve these issues. It’s an outdoor forum with a twist.

Members of the forum can use a form to set up their trip details, the time they will be back, and their contacts information. If they do not come back and shut off the alarm then an email is sent to their contact with all the details the member put in the form. This way all the details are written down and will not be lost. If you are one of those people that does not like to let anyone know where you are well this works perfect because as long as you shut off the alarm nobody will know and it’s a free program so everyone can afford it.
Give it a look see at All Outdoor Forum.
The number one rule of survival is to always let someone know where you are going and when you will be back.
