Recent Poll Says: 3/4 Of Americans Don`t Trust The Government

Surprise, surprise… 234,000,000 Americans don`t trust the government. That`s huge! Not even in my wildest dreams did I imagine so many people see the government as it is: manipulative and corrupt.

For a moment, I felt hopeful about our future. I thought “if all these people joined forces to fight against the government, they`d stand no chance”. But then I realised how silly it was of me. Just because you distrust the government, doesn`t mean you`ll DO something about it. It`s easier to sit and complain…

Still, it`s a start. Americans are finally getting tired of the lies they hear every day. Of having their rights stepped on shamelessly like they`re worth nothing. Of being spied on and treated like a “terrorist threat”. And the list goes on.

The most recent example that I can think of (actually, I don`t need to think about it, because I got so mad when I heard about it that it`s been on my mind ever since) is this:

How can the president of the United States of America make such a statement? When you`ve got the smartest, most experienced economists warn you the debt is getting out of hand and it will crush the next generations.. you come and publicly state it`s not a big deal?

““We don’t have an immediate crisis in terms of debt,” President Obama said in an exclusive interview with George Stephanopoulos for “Good Morning America.” “In fact, for the next 10 years, it’s gonna be in a sustainable place.”

In other words, as long as he`s president, we`re ok. After his term is over, it`s not his business anymore. The U.S. can fall to pieces, for all he cares. And what I “love” the most about it is that he`s not even trying to at least fake some concern, especially since it affects a huge decision: reducing the deficit.

“It’s an assessment that will throw cold water on the latest attempt to achieve a so-called grand bargain to reduce the deficit. After all, a grand bargain would require excruciatingly difficult decisions for both sides — for Republicans, it would mean raising taxes, and for Democrats, cutting future spending on cherished programs like Social Security and Medicare.

If there is no crisis, why would either side do it?

So, what happens if this latest effort to reach a deficit agreement falls through? Once again, the president’s answer was, essentially, no big deal.

“Ultimately, it may be that the differences are just too wide” to get a deal, President Obama said. “That won’t create a crisis. It just means that we will have missed an opportunity.”

And if that wasn`t enough, he actually tried to make it seem like the U.S. is doing better and better everyday:

“I think what’s important to recognize is that we’ve already cut $2.5- $2.7 trillion out of the deficit. If the sequester stays in, you’ve got over $3.5 trillion of deficit reduction already.”

While he was declaring this, U.S.A was losing millions out of thin air! And that`s no exaggeration:

According to RTAmerica, “Americans lost more than just an hour of sleep when they set their clocks ahead over the weekend to switch to Daylight Savings Time: a new report says the transition took nearly half a billion from the US economy.”

The US lost half a billion dollars in 1 hour… doing NOTHING! Can you imagine how much money we lose daily… money that no one even counts until they add up in piles over the current deficit. Suddenly, I feel like we`re living in XVIIth century France, with Louis XV saying: “After me, the flood”. Because only an irresponsible, self-centered monarch could make such statements so carelessly. Maybe Obama forgot what country he`s leading…
