Product Review: PRI Fuel Stabilizer+Giveaway

So you want to have large amounts, or even just 20-50 gallons of gas or diesel on hand for emergencies what do you do?

Well you can rotate them, which is always a good policy, but sometimes we cant rotate them for one reason or another.  Some folks have a remote cabin that they keep preps at or a below/above ground fuel tank they keep on hand for various reasons, but some or all of the fuel isnt going to be used and as you know after a year or less depending, your fuel can begin to develop carbon deposits that can affect your engine or render the fuel unusable.

Enter PRI…  This is a fuel additive that has been on the radar in Prepper circles for many a years, I first read about it on the pages of Survival Blog.

Now this is not some super duper, dump this in and buy this part and you will get 1000 miles on a gallon gimmick.

This stuff will really do what it says.

The two main things that PRI does well is to add to older fuel that may have started to degrade, it will treat the fuel and make it suitable for use again.

The other is our bread and butter in this community….STORAGE!

Now the Consumer Products come in 8,16, and 32 ounce bottles, with 8 ounces treating roughly an average fuel tank of 20 gallons.  So one can deduce that 2 ounces would go into every 5 gallon gasoline or diesel can that you have, and if stored properly can give you from 5-15 years of storage life (however PRI recommends you treat it again every 18 months).  Now these lengths of storage time vary from area to area and person to person  I was not willing to wait 5 years+ to write this post so I do not have first hand experience, however people whom I trust have used this product for those same periods of time and have seen it live up to its name.

PRI also comes in industrial strength for larger fuel storage tanks, If you remember correctly in J.W. Rawles Book “Patriots: The Coming Collapse” the characters in there had a large underground Diesel Tank and treated it with PRI-D and it lasted 5+ years until the fuel was all used up.  This is what the Industrial strength is for as it would get spendy to use consumer grade for that size of a tank.  PRI comes in two forms PRI-G for Gasoline and PRI-D for Diesel.

Industrial Strength will treat 256 gallons with one 16 ounce bottle and a gallon will treat around 2000 gallons, so if you are planning on having copious amounts of fuel storage this would be your ticket to long lasting storage.

This may seem like a glowing review, well it is, they make a fine product and have been very supportive of the Prepper Community over the years.
