Adventures with Dental Floss

Although dentists have made it highly known that you should floss your teeth everyday, what is not as widely known is the many [survival] uses of dental floss. And yes, you can use it more than once a day!

After a recent potluck dinner, I was asked if I had a toothpick. My response was solemnly to the negative but I eagerly offered some dental floss in the place of the wooden counterpart. The suggestion was positively received and then the response from another person was, “Why do you even have dental floss?” I quickly retorted with a smile, “Because you are asking me for some.”

This caused me to really put some thought into the uses of dental floss other than removing part of a masticated cow from in between my teeth. I compiled a list from the reasons I carry it as well as from several other sources on the web.
