Ever underestimated the devastating power of a rain drop?

A deadly flood is nothing more than a bunch large
group of seemingly harmless raindrops.

I never quite realized the sheer power of a wall
of water until one day in 2001 when I was living
near Houston in Texas.

This was before I was married and had kids.

I was going to work that day and took the bus.

The night before it had been raining cats and dogs.

I vividly remember waking up that morning having
a bad feeling in my stomach. Kind of like butterflies…

...but something wasn’t right that day.

I thought about staying at home but I had
bills to pay and had to get to work.

When I left my apartment the rain was hammering
down hard. I ran quickly to my regular bus stop
and huddled under the bus shelter with the other
people who were waiting for the bus.

What happened next seems now to have happened
in fast forward.

I remember being on the bus reading a something
when there was an almighty THUMP.

A massive torrent of water had rushed down a side lane
and smashed into our bus. The force was so powerful
that we ended up pinned against a wall…

There was panic.

People were screaming and shouting…running around like
headless chickens trying to get out of the bus.

The bus driver was frantically trying to open the door of
the bus – someone screamed at him to stop that as the bus would
fill up with water and we’d all drown.

I was terrified.

I was sitting in the middle of the bus and I had no
way out.

Suddenly I heard someone shouting from above me
and felt a strong hand on my shoulder.

Before I knew it this guy, who was on the roof of the bus,
had opened up the emergency exit door and pulled
me right out of the bus.

You should have seen this guy.

He was amazing.

He knew EXACTLY what to do. He immediately told me to
jump across to a ledge where there were other
guys waiting. There was a window wide open there.

Before I knew it I was in a shelter. I was safe.

After I gained my composure I started thinking
to myself:

“How the heck did he know exactly what to do?”

I looked for the guy but I couldn’t find him.

A few days later I was making a cup of coffee at the
shelter when, thru the door, walked this guy…

He was NOTHING like my mind had remembered him.

He wasn’t huge and ripped like Arnold Schwarzenegger…

No, he was short, had a belly and was balding.

I was amazed.

But this guy was a hero. He saved my life and countless others too.

I went up to him, shook his hand and thanked him.

I had to ask…

“How the hell did you know exactly what to do?” I asked

“Simple” he said “I started learning about survival
and preparedness strategies a few years ago. What I’ve
learned I put into practice…”

He told me to create a “Preparedness Foundation”.

This is essentially a base from which you can build
your survival plan off of.

It will help you so that you don’t leave anything out…so
that all your bases are covered.

I spent the next few years reading everything I
could get my hands on.

I learned how to assess my situation and create
my survival plan based on that.

I would like to help you do the same. In a few days time
I’ll show you how I overlooked something so obvious
and that small mistake nearly killed me and my
2 best friends.

Keep an eye out for that. It’s important.

P.S. 41 people died in that flood and I could have easily
been one of them.

From that day on I vowed to take my safety into my own
hands.
