My brother & his wife just got back from a trip to Europe, an anniversary gift to themselves and the first time either had been out of the country. Their trip was part of a cruise package with 4,000 passengers…1,000 of them were Americans.

Reports have surfaced announcing Black Friday and Cyber Monday showed increased sales over the previous year and yet again, people were in line up to a week prior to Black Friday to scoop up ‘bargains’ unloading cash that is supposedly in short supply.

This is one of the great mysteries of America… high unemployment numbers, high foreclosures still taking place, the highest number of citizens ever on food stamps, the lowest savings rate in the world, etc. YET, Americans still spend like there is no tomorrow.
