Chilean Earthquake, Tsunami Update

The Tsunami Wave that was generated by the 8.2 earthquake that hit Northern Chile, has decreased in strength. ALL Tsunami warnings for the US West Coast have been cancelled.

The tsunami wave was due to hit Western US around 8 am.

Damage and casualty reports are beginning to come in from Chile, currently it is unknown if there is damage in Chile. All response teams remain on high alert.

There has been about 15 aftershocks in the area since the 8.2 earthquake. The USGS is still analyzing the data, so it is highly likely the strength of this earthquake to be modified. It is advisable that if you live on the west coasts, listen to local officials and stay away from the shore tomorrow.
