Alternatives to Revolution

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

There is an old saying that the United States of America is the greatest country in the world.

The statement rang true for centuries and alluded to abundant natural resources, unrelenting freedom, and opportunity the world had never seen.  With few exceptions, this country offered a life to early immigrants never before granted to a civilized society of human beings.  No tyrannical rule.  No caste system.  We offered a government that merely recognized the inalienable rights with which we, as humans, are born.  The founding documents were written not to grant these rights, the government did not have the power to do this, but to enumerate them.  The abundant land and endless resources allowed a person the ability to pull unlimited wealth from the very ground.  A person’s success was not limited by birthright but their penchant for work and ingenuity dictated their reward.

There is also a saying that “all good things must come to an end”.

If I had to put my finger on a point in history where things began to unravel, I’d have to guess somewhere around the beginning of the 20th century.  This point marks the reversal in the government’s perceived obligations.  A hammer and chisel began to work at the rock of freedom wrought in the foundation of this once great nation.

Today, the assault on freedom is quickening.  The government makes no law recognizing freedom, they haven’t since 1791.  Today, the government exists to limit freedom.  In eventuality, it will exist to remove it completely.  The reason?  The people have forgotten why it exists and have willfully given the keys to a bunch of wolves in trade for a few beads and trinkets.  Whether it be the folks on the receiving end of wealth redistribution, the citizens who think the government exists to “do something”, or those trying to thrust their agenda upon us, it doesn’t matter, the reigns are in the hands of power hungry monsters.  Only a very small percentage of us remember that government is simply a protector of God given rights.  For the few of us that do remember, we have but a few choices, and none are truly appealing.

The very capital that has been stored by the toils of hundreds of millions of Americans, alive and dead, is being spent in what history will look back upon as a flash.  The politicians have pandered to the American people, purchasing their freedom with promised security of every sort, financial, physical, and even emotional (don’t call me a racist!).  They’ve done so by writing checks that the wealth of the whole world couldn’t cash.  For those of us with eyes that are open and ears that hear, there are only four basic options.

The first option, and most gruesome  I need not mention.  It is human nature to jump to that conclusion.  For those who feel this is an option, remember, don’t ever get yourself into a situation without first knowing it’s outcome.  One byproduct of  the engineered “diversity” is you now have millions of people, each feeling entitled to a way of life that oppresses the liberty another person.  There is no common thread among us. Imagine the vacuum that would be created by this option, then imagine millions of self-centered crybaby’s trying to “get their’s”.  The people today don’t have the fortitude to stomach, let alone be successful with this option.  The horrors required for this option to return life to the visions of our forefathers haven’t even been told in the most disgusting Hollywood movies.

The second option is the road that is most traveled; do nothing, bury your head in the sand and hope that the storm passes.  Unfortunately, it won’t.  This is the path that nearly all Americans will take.  During the revolutionary war most folks, like today, just wanted to be left alone.  If it was not for the three or so percent of the population that forced change, we would still be a British colony or worse.  This option requires the least effort, heart, and action.  You will get out what you put in.  Even if you manage to expire from this world grasping a few shattered shards of freedom, what about your children?

The third option is the most difficult, and the one the enemies of freedom have patiently worked for over a century, legal political change.  In the context of the founding documents the current assaults on freedom might seem absurd, but even the largest iron beam can be bent if pressure is applied slowly over time.  Should this option be exercised none of you reading will ever see the freedoms our forefathers experienced.  Even so, this would be the least painful option.  The main problem is the leviathan is moving in the wrong direction.  It must be first stopped, then reversed, slowly.  Your life’s efforts may result only in a minute deceleration of it’s forward momentum, but constant pressure can reverse the beast.  We can only hope that we haven’t bankrupted the country, financially or morally, before real change can take place.

The genesis for this article, and the fourth option, came to me when I was contacted by a company who wished to advertise on the Tin Hat Ranch website.  Their solution, while not unique to their company, is intriguing to say the least and harkens back to the original foundation of this country.  It is quite simple, find an area of the globe that is far from any population center, has abundant resources, a government that doesn’t have the means to truly hamper your efforts, and start over.

I’ve often wished I could just pack up our stuff and quit the indentured servitude of modern American life.  I imagine one of my ancestors in Europe, over a century ago, woke up one morning feeling the very same thing I feel now.  I would love to trade all of our new found “security” for freedom.  I would rather rely on my efforts to survive; true high wire walkers operate without a net.  I would like to leave the geographical boundries that define the chains of constraint I feel growing around my ankles.  I’d like to go somewhere and be free.

This option begs the question, is there anywhere left on the planet where one can be left alone?  Can you own property and create a living without a three letter agency telling you what you can and can’t do with what you own?  Can you truly worship whom you choose, without ridicule and oppression?  Right now I could type a few choice words and phrases, right here, that would shut down my website for good, make me lose my job, and if I “incite a riot” over in the middle east, land me in jail.  Can I be so remote in this world to be able to say what I wish and not have the PC police come crashing down on me?  Can I take the things that I produce and believe, and keep them for myself?

I want to be free.  I want to respect the liberties of others.  I want to be left alone.  I don’t want security.  I don’t need to be told the rights and wrongs of the day, depending on the direction of the wind.

I don’t know if it is possible to disappear here in the US, everything you do is monitored, recorded, and tracked.  But it might be possible to give up your security here, and find a remote spot on the planet to stake your claim, a place so remote and under that radar that it wouldn’t be worth the time or efforts or even be beyond the ability of the local government to deny a person the right to be left alone.  This thought reinforces that the United States might not be the option, think Cliven Bundy, right or wrong, it proves the government will waste millions upon millions of dollars to stamp out a person of independence, period.

Other than leaving the planet (you think I say this in jest) it might be the only option for a few generations of your family to remotely watch the destruction of the United States and the “civilized world”, safely, from afar.

In all fairness, I will mention the company that got my wheels turning.  Like I said, they contacted me to be an advertiser and at the moment we have no ties to them, but their concept is interesting.  The company is called Finca Bayano.  They operate a settlement in remote Central America for folks that wish to just disappear and rely on their own efforts.  If you wish, check them out here.

There are no alternatives in any revolution.

Unfortunately man knows only defeat by violence at the end of a gun. Force is the only recognizable solution to evil….not hugs…
