The Best State to Live in for Preppers

This is a question that has so many facets it might as well be a diamond.  50 states to choose from (57 for some), each with their own unique characteristics.  As a prepper, choosing the state in which you will reside has many considerations.  A balance between the “normal” times and a post apocalypse world must be weighed.  Things like land prices, natural resources, and natural disasters must be compared to the current political climate, gun rights,  and population.  There are some great States in which I might choose to live, but  for the nut jobs that already residing in those States.

I sat down to write the article as I have my personal preferences, then I thought to myself, what about everyone else?  So we whipped up this poll to let you decide which state is best.  We will keep it up until we get a good sample size, and then write the article on yourchoices.  So please share, I really wish to see lots of folks opinions!

Before you just scroll down to vote, please consider some of the following.  As a prepper, if you chose to live in this state, consider that you have to live there right now, in the current political climate.  Before the “apocalypse” you might have to spend five years, ten years, heck, who said an apocalypse is going to happen, you might spend the rest of your life in this State.  You have to consider things like current firearms laws, taxes, jobs,  land prices, population density and so on.  Juxtapose that with what might be available to you in a grid down situation; water, fertile soil, climate, and the propensity for the sky to fall on you, your surroundings to catch on fire, or the ground to shake you to pieces.  There are literally hundreds of data points to ponder.
