Critter CR2 Multifuel Stove Stand on Kickstarter

I thought I’d share with all of you (another) pretty cool Kickstarter project that I recently backed. The Critter CR2 is a pocket-sized folding stove stand that is designed to be compatible with the majority of ultralight stoves that folks like us carry, such as soda can alcohol stoves, trangia stoves, and even sterno for car campers. It can also be used just as easily with a wood fire.

I was fortunate to be given the opportunity to test one of the stainless steel versions of the Critter CR2 for the past few weeks and have taken it with me on several short trips. The stainless steel CR2 weighs 1.8 oz and folds up small enough to fit into a pocket. It creates a very wide and stable platform that can support a lot of weight for large pots and group meals. Thanks to the top prongs, it can also easily support small single person cups like my favorite Snow Peak 600.

Titanium Version and Special Giveaway!

I was originally a backer of the stainless steel version of the Critter Cr2, however the creator recently added a 1 oz titanium CR2 option to the Kickstarter campaign for just $10 dollars more that the stainless steel version. I adjusted my funding amount for the titanium version and I’m pretty excited about it.
