Dumb things I did camping.. lost food to a family of raccoons

• I think many of us have learned about raccoons the hard way…they are very clever animals!
• We once forgot the rain fly and there was only a 10% chance of rain so we didn’t go back to get it. Of course, it rained lot a monsoon that night.

• Yep we fell victim to the raccoon family at mammoth cave national park. They took almost everything.
• We got raided by raccoons years ago and learned a valuable lesson…..don’t have that last glass of wine until you make sure that everything is secured for the night!
• My son made survivals stew to take to boy scouts winter camp in McCall Idaho and we left everything for it in the refrigerator and literally had to come up with something to eat and to feed the judges during the competition.
• Brought propane but forgot my camp stove

• Used a dead tree to hold my weight to use the bathroom. Yeah. Got my trail name because of it.
