Facebook Implements Chinese-Style Censorship/Snitch Policies

USA – -(Ammoland.com)- Ten years ago, the Communist Chinese government, the same lying, freedom-crushing totalitarians who brand U.S. gun ownership to be a “human rights violation,” introduced virtual cartoon internet police Jingjing and Chacha, whose purpose was to “pinpont web dissent” and suppress it by letting users know the police were watching them if they dared do anything forbidden.

Never one to put principle over profits, as his selling out of Americans on H1-B visas and amnesty (along with his sequestered, exclusive private estates demonstrate), Facebook’s top dog (and sixth richest oligarch on the planet) Mark Zuckerberg is now sucking up to the Chinese to allow his social media network in:

Zuckerberg hosted one of China’s top Internet officials at Facebook’s Silicon Valley headquarters last year, where he shamelessly put a copy of a book by President Xi on his desk to be included in some photos later posted online by the Cyberspace Administration of China.

And just to prove he’s willing to sell out freedom of expression and online conduct (the same way “Don’t be evil” Google has done), Facebook, in order to please domestic collectivists every bit as anti-gun as their Chinese counterparts, has implemented a ban on private account gun ads:

New York’s attorney general, Eric T. Schneiderman, who has pressed for restrictions on illegal gun sales on Facebook and other sites, praised the company’s move.

This is different than the existing Facebook ban on purchased ads:

Prohibited Content …  Ads must not promote the sale or use of … Weapons, ammunition, or explosives…

Borrowing a tactic from the police state playbook, Facebook’s “No Guns” enforcement will be dependent on an army of citizen snitches. Based on comments on gun-grabber social media pages, their fascist members are eager to do what they can to get gun owner accounts closed out for “violations.”

Facebook said it would rely on its vast network of users to report any violations of the new rules, and would remove any post that violated the policy. Beyond that, the company said it could ban users or severely limit the ways they post on Facebook, depending on the type and severity of past violations. If the company believed someone’s life was in danger, Facebook would work with law enforcement on the situation.

Facebook will also rely on user reports of private gun sales that occur between members via Facebook Messenger, the company’s private messaging service. Facebook does not scan the content of those messages.

So what’s the solution? Abandon Facebook?

You could, but then you’d be ceding an information-sharing tool to the antis. Face it, without social media, much of the information gun rights advocates need to stay informed would be extremely difficult to learn about, promote and share, as the establishment press either won’t cover it or will distort what it does “report” on.  Why not use Zuckerberg’s resources to help fellow activists stay better informed?

Plus, there’s a way to make lemonade out of lemons, and even do gun owners a service by “outing” punk gunsnitches.
