‘House-to-House Confiscation’ of Guns Will Be on California Ballot
California is poised to vote in some of the most restrictive gun control laws in the nation when voters go to the polls in November.
The ballot initiative, Proposition 63, would ban magazines larger than 10 rounds, which critics say would lead to house-to-house confiscation by police statewide.
It also would:
- Require ammunition sales be made through licensed vendors.
- Require lost or stolen guns or ammo be reported to police.
- Require buyers pass a background check prior to purchasing ammunition.
The magazine ban is drawing the most opposition.

“Millions of legal magazines will need to be sold out-of-state, taken out-of-state, or seized by law enforcement,” according to the Coalition for Civil Liberties, which opposes Proposition 63.
Many legal firearms will only operate with “magazines that can hold more than 10 rounds, making them effectively illegal,” the coalition noted.
“This backdoor gun ban is not just on future sales, but forces you to surrender your existing private property to law enforcement,” it added.
The coalition asserted that Proposition 63, if passed, will lead to “house-to-house confiscation” of guns and magazines.
According to the text of the proposed law, anyone who is caught possessing an illegal magazine can be jailed for up to one year. Current owners of such magazines have three choices, according to the text: 1) remove it from the state, 2) sell it to a licensed dealer, or 3) surrender it to police “for destruction.”
Sheriffs from Butte, Shasta and Modoc counties told KHSL-TV that the proposal would turn law-abiding citizens into criminals.
“Proposition 63 is bad for gun owners and bad for California,” Shasta County Sheriff Tom Bosenko told the outlet.
The California State Sheriffs’ Association opposes Proposition 63.
“This measure would do little to prevent the criminal element from acquiring guns and ammunition via the black market or through theft,” a letter from the association reads. “Instead, it would place additional restrictions on law-abiding citizens who wish to purchase ammunition for sporting or hunting use, retain guns and magazines that are currently legal for them to possess, and pass historical or family heirloom guns down to their next generation.
The measure, the letter reads, “will create a new class of criminals out of those that already comply with common sense practices that now exist.”

Our sheriffs are merely corporate employees whose job it is to fraudulently enforce corporate policy on the people under admiralty jurisdiction (the jurisdiction of the sea) which they dishonestly call statutory jurisdiction. There is no such thing as statutory jurisdiction.
They are lawbreaking criminals posing as law enforcement. This is true of all police and so called law enforcement in the U.S. In order for there to be a crime there must be a victim. What these corporate agencies are doing is enforcing arbitrary rules on a supposedly free people at gunpoint which in itself is against the law. If you’ve ever been pulled over when you have not victimized anyone then a crime was committed against you and you have been victimized by them.
Until we are willing to defend ourselves and our rights with the deadly force that the second amendment was supposed to guarantee us, we will find that every year there will be more and more of these arbitrary rules that we are mandated (forced by threat of violence or death) to follow until we have effectively become prisoners in our own homes and we will not even be safe there. This is already true to some extent.
We already have to pay for the “privilege” of living on the land in a home that we supposedly own but in reality the county corporations claim ownership of. If the county owns my home then maybe I should sue the bank that sold it to me for fraud? How can the bank sell me a home that it does not own?
We have to ask for permission and then pay an annual fee for the “privilege” to travel in our own PRIVATE property on the PUBLIC roads and if we do not adhere to the traveling policies of the corporation we may be stopped by corporate officers (thugs/goons) armed with deadly weapons with the intent of intimidating, robbing, kidnapping us or even killing us if we attempt to defend ourselves against these criminal activities.
In other words they expect us to be willing victims of their crimes against us in the name of what is legal all the while forsaking what is lawful. They get away with this by falsely claiming that we consented to being robbed, beat, tazed, maced or shot for not being a good willing victim.
Legalities are just rules like in a football game. The only reason that the rules apply in a football game is that both sides have agreed to follow them. Making up rules and then forcing an unwilling party to obey them at gunpoint is a crime. We have a right to defend ourselves against criminals. I suppose we could just stop them and take their money and property at gunpoint and then claim that they gave us consent because they did not file an official withdrawal of consent form with our office.
The constitution is a rule book that they agreed to follow. Their rule book says that the rights of the people to own and bear arms shall not be infringed. As soon as they broke this rule (and many others) by creating infringements such as what you may own and carry or where or how you may own and carry (these are all infringements by definition) they broke the rules and lost all legitimacy. They cheated at the game and broke the law in doing so and have therefore been disqualified. Now we just need enough armed men to serve them their eviction notice and abolish this corporate fascist system and start anew. If there are enough armed men in protest we might avoid even a single shot being fired.
Let me guess, someone is going to say “but if we use our guns it will give them a reason to take them away”. Well, if we are not going to use them then what is the point of having them to begin with? Why do you think that they want to take them away in the first place? So we can’t use them to defend ourselves of course. If they can convince us not to use them to defend ourselves then they have already accomplished the same end goal as they would have by taking them from us or getting us to willingly surrender them.
A man with a gun who refuses to take it out of the cabinet it is just as vulnerable as a man with no gun at all.
Hoo-boy! They are really stepping up their confiscations before the new All-American Civil War they seem desperate to create between the people and the criminal government.

My comment is that this proposition is unconstitutional, oppressive, and tells the world the caliber of California’s House members : simply they are possibly ignorant of the US Constitution, they place no value on their word, OR they are UNAMERICAN and enemies of all honest and respectable American citizens.
It is meaningless. The cops don’t even like it and won’t enforce it. It is illegal as hell anyway.
Telling people that they can’t have a sawed off shotgun or a fully automatic weapon is also illegal but they will still jail you for it.
Where? How many cops do you know willing to risk their lives for a “law” that in the end is most likely to be overturned?
While you are at it, you can of course produce the exact number in the USSA arrested and jailed for those “crimes” to date?

my sister just bought a new 1500 s.f. brick house in Tyler for $120k. It’s on a nice sized fenced lot with grass on all four sides and city amenities. And the neighbors are great, nice, friendly, easy-to-get-to-know good people! Kind of like all of Texas was 40 years ago before the mass migration from yankee-land and the midwest commenced. The socialists that run those states taxed their economies out of existence long ago. That had the effect of sending some of their best people down here. Good job, democrats!

I live in Calif- there has been a ban on mags over 10 rounds for years now- any weapons have had to be registered as “assault” when the laws were passed- how is this new law different??
