Bonaventure River Canoe Expedition

Immediately following our spring Wilderness Bushcraft Semester, our team of instructors is headed northeast to the Quebec’s Gaspe Peninsula for a whitewater trip on the Bonaventure River. We’re all excited about the trip, and the possibility of forming a loose instructors network.

We’ll be paddling by day and discussing all sorts of pertinent issues by the fire at night. We’ve been toying with the idea of having a series of trips specifically for working guides and instructors where we can get out in the field and enjoy a river, talk about the work and enjoy each others company. I personally like the idea of this sort of instructor gathering on the trail because it will eliminate a lot of the standing around that comes with car camping at a rendezvous. As the guys and I were discussing last night, it will be fun to do the things we do rather than be at a campground talking about the things we do.

We’re all looking forward to it: a fun and experienced group and an epic river.
