Nitecore NU25 Headlamp Review

The Nitecore NU25 Headlamp does not come up short in the lumen department at 360 max lumens. And it does this at only 0.99oz. 

So let’s find out whether this needs to be your next headlamp.

The Good

The first thing I noticed about the Nitecore NU25 Headlamp was the auxiliary red light. I really like a red light for preserving night vision. 

The next thing I noticed was being blinded by the primary light. 360 lumens is nothing to laugh at. 

The Nu25 has a built-in battery and charged by USB. I want almost all my lights to be rechargeable now. With only a backup that runs on non-rechargeable batteries. 

It is lightweight.  And that has become a balancing act with headlamp makers recently. The neverending race for more lumens keeps making headlamps heavier. 

I have another headlamp that is significantly heavier. It feels like a chunk of metal on your head. 

The Bad

I only have one major issue with the Nitecore NU25 Headlamp. And that’s the internal battery. There is no way to change the battery. 

That makes me nervous. What do I do when the battery dies? 

So I will keep using and testing the light to see how the battery performs. 

Final Thoughts

Is the Nitecore NU25 right for you? Right now on Amazon it sales for $36. That’s half the price of the competition it beats them in features. 

The NU25 is a great daily use headlamp. Great for hiking and camping trips. 

The only thing I don’t feel its good for is a long-term collapse. I feel that the battery would be it’s hindrance there.

So if you need a daily use headlamp I feel that the Nitecore NU25 Headlamp would be great.
