I am sending you this email because several people have contacted me at some time after the May primary concerning my support of Jeff Miller’s congressional campaign. I have made two attempts to reach out to Jeff Miller and both have gone unanswered.

On August 25,2010, in an attempt to assist Jeff Miller in his campaign to unseat Heath Shuler, I invited him to be my special guest on Dr Dan’s Freedom Forum. Two weeks passed, and I received no reply either from Jeff or the Miller campaign regarding my invitation. On September 8, 2010, therefore, I sent Jeff Miller and Brian Barrett a second invitation, a copy of which follows:

Dear Jeff and Brian:

On August 25, two weeks ago, I sent you an invitation to appear on The Freedom Forum TV program in Asheville on Tuesday evening October 26. The invitation read as follows:

Dear Jeff,

September and October are “Candidate Months” on Dr Dan’s Freedom Forum, featuring interviews with candidates from our area who stand for limited government and fiscal responsibility.

The Freedom Forum airs every Tuesday evening from 8 – 9 PM on Charter Cable Channel #20 (URTV) and is streamed live on the internet via two websites:

(www.drdansfreedomforum.com) and (www.urtv.org)

It is also possible to give you a link so that you can stream it live from your own campaign website. In addition to the live broadcast, the show is repeated up to four times during the following week, and we will give you a DVD of the program for your own promotional use.

Dr Dan’s Freedom Forum has been on the air for over six months and has a growing audience. We have discussed a variety of issues critical to the concept of limited government, fiscal restraint, and free market economy. Some of my recent guests have included Frank Anderson, founder of the Independence Caucus, Dickie Green, Betty Jackson, Sandra Goss (an RN who worked both in England and America), and Jared Fuller of SE Director of Young Americans for Liberty.

URTV is a non-profit corporation [501(c)(3)]. As such, you are not allowed to advocate a call to action, i.e., you cannot say, “Vote for Me”. This interview, however, will give you the opportunity to state and explain your positions on subjects of interest to your potential voters in a non-threatening atmosphere. You have my personal guarantee that there will be no “gotcha” questions. This is not a debate nor will it be in any way an adversarial situation.

Basically, you will have one hour of free TV time in the Asheville market and over the internet to reach out to potential voters.

I have saved the best date for you – Tuesday, October 26 – one week before election day. You will need to be at the URTV studio in Asheville from 7:45 PM until the show ends at 9 PM. Candidates for the NC statehouse and various judgeships are already scheduled for the weeks prior to you appearance.

Since October 26 is my last open spot before November 2, I would appreciate a response from you as quickly as possible.

Again, as of today, October 13, 2010, there has been no response either from Jeff Miller or his campaign. At the risk of being redundant, please understand that my offer is a sincere invitation to give Jeff Miller one hour of free television airtime both on Charter Cable Channel 20 and streamed live on the internet either through our website or through a link we would provide to the Miller campaign to use on its own website.

During this election cycle, the following candidates have appeared or are scheduled to appear on The Freedom Forum: Jim Davis, RL Clark, Sam Edwards, Mark Crawford, Dickie Green, Bridget Odom, Lisa Baldwin, Steven Walker, Judge Anne Marie Calabria, and Judge Barbara Jackson. We have discussed a variety of issues critical to the concepts of limited government, fiscal restraint, and free market economy, giving each candidate the opportunity to state and explain his/her positions on subjects of interest to potential voters in a comfortable, non-threatening atmosphere.

Although, as of October 1, our Tuesday evening show time is now 8:30 – 9:30 PM, our invitation for Jeff Miller to appear on Dr Dan’s Freedom Forum remains unchanged.
