Wealth belongs to the Party

When was it that becoming wealthy is akin to being a criminal?

It started with Personal income Tax where the wealthier you are the more you pay in tax.  People thought this was fair, why should someone with more money pay the same as someone with relatively low income.  And no one complained, and the Government managed to stagger the income tax pay rates

Where were the people that said, hold on, my mate on 80,000 is paying $4,650 plus 30c for each $1 over $37,000

On $80,000  Approx $17550 in tax

Where earning $180,000 is paying  $17,550 plus 37c for each $1 over $80,000

On $180000 approx  $54550 in tax

Now if the person on $180,000 paid the same rate of tax as the mate does it would mean he is paying $47,550

But still the Govt, takes an additional $7,000 in tax because if you earn more you should pay more…..hmmm……… I always believed if I paid  $47550 in tax, and my mate paid $17550 in tax, I was in fact paying $30,000 more already ?

Now on top of this my mate gets Medicare, and I get no rebate on Private health care, am not eligible for Medicare and still will be expected to pay a Medicare levy ???

Hospital patients have been advised will pay more for overnight stays and emergency surgery as the carbon tax adds $100 million a year to health energy bills.

Leading private hospitals warned they would have to pass on the cost of the Gillard government’s greenhouse scheme, which will add about 16 per cent to their energy bills.

Confidential modelling reveals public hospitals also face a similar hike – some will pay an extra $1 million-plus.

The Carbon Tax is supposedly to reduce our energy consumption, but we maybe need to ask the Government where they want us to save it, turning off respirators ?  turning off heart monitors ? Not performing emergency operations during the day when they pat peak prices ? or do we turn off all the lights, open windows and turn off aircons, no TV in rooms,  of course stop using x-rays, or MRI’s, no more dialysis machines, forget radiotherapy, or Nuclear medicine, the mortuary needs the power cut, don’t worry about power for maternity or kids wards, and humidicribs will be regarded as a extra cost, is not economically viable.  In fact the Government has already introduced a pseudo death tax, but can use the savings above to boost revenue by introducing a death tax in it’s own right.

My mate has access to Family A benefits from the Government, although For Family Tax Benefit Part A even, if your family’s adjusted taxable income for this financial year is $46,355 or less, your payment will not be affected by the income test.

If your adjusted taxable income is more than $46,355 for this financial year, your payment will reduce by 20 cents for each dollar above $46,355 until your payment reaches the base rate of Family Tax Benefit Part A..  Now this is telling me the Government is of the belief $80,000 puts you into a higher wage category, which is now going to give me a headache because $80,000 was a fairly average sort of a wage I thought.

The biggest issue I would have thought is this is a complete waste of time, as you receive the $726.35 at the end of the Financial year.  Why don’t they link this as a tax rebate for this purpose and then it is being managed as a part of the Personal Income Tax process instead of being reliant on the process.

And then some one let slip the Government is going to hit us with a Carbon Tax, and my mate yet again gets compensated for the supposed effect of the Carbon Tax, but you guessed it I get no compensation.  This leads me to the assumption that  taking into account the major criticisms being levelled at the government’s plans to put a price on carbon is that it is inflationary – that it will raise prices by a large amount.   Treasury modelling shows that the cost to an average household will be approximately $9.90 per week and we know this will be an underestimate.

Worse still is the Government has decided the carbon pricing scheme will impose costs on big polluters, which means as I do not receive compensation, I am obviously considered a big polluter also ??  Now I can accept this in the case of our politica

Ok doing the calculations I am still earning more than my mate, but for what possible reason should this gap have dwindled to only half the difference we originally had.  The inflection is the Government hates higher income earners, however, this can’t be right when they gave them selves a 30% + pay rise meaning they earn at least twice what I do, does this mean they hate themselves twice as much?
No, I agree that is definitely not the case but it does show us the horrendous hypocrisy they are displaying.

I am sure with the size of the PM’s pay increase she will be moving back to Werribee any time now, as the Lodge is a perk of a home free of charge, as well as having free transport and travel. This is what the Pollies supposedly gave up in order to secure these huge pay rises, yeah right.

The simple truth is the Party finds it acceptable to get huge wages and the top jobs, and this is why our economy will actually be in a worse position than anything we hear via Wayne Swan.

Now of course Wayne Swan and the wannabee Bob Curr is attacking mining companies because they earn too much money.  Does this mean any one that earns more than them is paid too much from now on, because that means I must be back on the poverty line under that idea.  The PM earns  2.5 x more than me.

Let’s face it all of this shows a Government that hasn’t got a clue, and a Treasurer who the local footie club wouldn’t let touch their books.    We now have a unelected Foreign Minister who was the one that built the $1.9 billlion Desalination Plant without consideration as to the reliability and need for the plant.
http://images.smh.com.au/2009/10/11/783219/420water-420×0.jpg  Shows us the increases to Water Tax rates to pay for Bob

Curr’s Desalination Plant of 16.7% in 2009, 5% 2010, 4% 2011, and 2.6% in 2012.  Of course 2010 was a rare weather event and we received a lot of rain, then 2011 was a rare weather event causing mass flooding and overflowing dams, and 2012 is a rare weather event which has produced Dam filling rains, mass flooding and yet has not stopped us from paying for a Plant we didn’t want.

But that is acceptable, as Curr wasn’t paying for his water rates.  And who cares, he has wormed his way into the more lucrative Federal politics now and under the protection of the Party.

All of this is of course very interesting, but leaves us with 2 big questions.  When did earning a comfortable income become an illegal act,  and….

Where the hell was the Opposition when the Fair Work Act went through ?  Not once do I recall hearing about the ‘Untouchables’ or FWA being given more power than our police force.
